A little ways from the building and across the seat, a black '69 Chevy Impala sat in the shadows of the quiet street. Occasionally, a lone car would be speeding down the street, passing too fast to notice a tall man reclined against the driver's seat with his fingers pressed against his temples, with a concentrated look on his face.
A wire led up from the radio in his lap to his ear, covered by the side of his baseball cap, was how Karl was listening in on the entire meeting even as he was sitting a good half-mile away. The sounds of conversation didn't interest him as much as was the heart beat of his partner that the god could hear easily, even if the pin was probably somewhere far from her chest.
She seemed calm and from his position, the heat signatures that could be felt in the building didn't seem to indicate any dangerous movement.
"Alpha, this is Bravo, how copy?"
Without pressing the TALK button, Karl simply twitched his fingers to respond through the radio.
"Copy, Bravo, this is Alpha. Stand-by, no-go yet. Meeting just started, over."
