Who: The Democratic Party and Glibt
What: Catching up!
When: Friday afternoon
Where: Mark's brownstone
Warnings: Nope!
Malcolm insisted on driving them back from the Hamptons even though Mark was honestly feeling fine. He wasn't drunk, but his son was a worrier who disliked alcohol in conjunction with his religious beliefs and so he drove them back to the Upper West Side. It meant that Mark had an entire car ride to think about things; mostly the words Johnny had spat at him over the computer the night before. 'You need some more practice then'.
"Am I that bad of a father?" he asked, canting his head towards Malcolm as he unlocked the brownstone door.
"Nah. I turned out a'ight," Malcolm laughed and tossed Mark his keys. "Johnny's fucked up, is all. It's not your fault." Though Malcolm's almost constant support when it came to Johnny was nice, he couldn't agree there. Johnny hadn't started the war. He'd just done what his father had wanted. And Mark had been proud. He didn't think Malcolm often thought about that and it was probably better for their relationship. It was the kind of relationship he wanted with all of his children, but whether or not that was possible with Johnny was up in the air. It was Mark's fault. "You feeling okay?"
Mark shrugged. "I was never drunk."
"Uh huh." He rolled his eyes. "You should go lie down or something. Stop stressing over that kid."
"That kid is your brother!" Mark called out behind Malcolm as he disappeared towards his room. He gave no acknowledgment that he'd heard him Mark just sighed, continuing inside the apartment as he searched for the other resident of the place: his boyfriend. "Harvey?"
