Just as Polnoca had promised, she baked a couple dozen cookies just as she had promised Subway. From the looks of his last journal entry, he was in something of a mood. Whether it was an angry one, she wasn’t entirely sure. But either way, cookies usually helped with any mood. She had stayed up til it was time for her guard duty, as she so lovingly referred to watching the Doomsday Hound, baking the pre-requested cookies.
With the cookies piled into a container, she bid farewell to her co-workers. She had come into work early so that she could leave early; something that her shift head was rather good about. Polnoca tended to make up for any lost time or having to leave early on occasion, so Jenna was rather nice about letting her off a little earlier than usual.
Heading for the first subway entrance, which wasn’t very far from the hospital, Polnoca wondered if Subway would be able to feel her presence. She remembered him mentioning sensing people, or something along those lines. She wondered how that worked. When her sisters were in the sky watching the Hound, she could feel them in a sense. She could tell when they were up there, and when they were leaving. Other than that, she could only feel them for a certain distance.
Her mind wandered as she went through the motions of getting into the subway. It wasn’t long before she was entering a less occupied part of the train and had found a seat. With the container in her lap, she stretched her legs and propped them on the seat across from her. There was no sense in not being comfortable as she waited, right?
