There was an acceptable distance between them, so Caerus just smiled back at her. “Hi - and you’re welcome! I didn’t do very much. I don’t mind you waiting around - I was just wondering if you had or not, actually. I wasn’t sure if you’d want to stay so close by and just take off. I wouldn’t have minded if you had left.”
Caerus had helped because he could, and because it had seemed interesting. He hadn’t expected anything in return. More often than not, no one even had an idea he had done anything, and that was the way he liked it. Of course, giving help when someone wanted it wasn’t a bad thing. He’d been doing that sort of thing lately. He wondered if it was a result of being amongst so many immortals he knew - maybe even just immortals, period.
He’d been on his own for a good, long time, and while he’d enjoyed it, there was something to be said for company.
