Caerus, hands stuffed casually in his pockets, watched the events unfold with amusement. The girl had got out just fine, without being noticed. It had been her best chance, and she’d taken it. He was glad to have helped - and ruining the mortals’ fun was an added bonus. They weren’t likely to get far with anything if they reacted to every opportunity with such immaturity.
Not that he necessarily disapproved of such things. Boredom led to foolish things sometimes - and it wasn’t always so bad. Caerus stayed a minute or two more before getting himself some hot chocolate and slipping out. His departure was ignored just as his arrival had been.
He walked slowly down the street, sipping lightly at his drink and keeping carefully away from everyone else on the sidewalk. Would she have stuck around, or would she have just bolted? If she had, Caerus wouldn’t have blamed her.
