The Kesslers were all in their seats now and the lull that had occurred while the men were ordering had been the time enough for the Commander to make his decision. It was a decision that had surprised Reena. True she didn't get to spend all that much time with her brothers but that didn't mean that Spock had to leave...
Peter looked up from the tea list and seemed to read his younger sister's body language - Mikey did too - it was something of a trait among the Kessler clan that they were very good at telling what the others were thinking. And it was this skill - some of their friends called it an ability - that often got them out of odd socual situations.
"I don't really see any reason why you have to leave, Commander Spock." It was Mike who spoke up first. "After all we've just arrived. And apparantly Petey here has news that he refused to tell us until everyone was present."
"Not to mention the fact that you were here first," Peter added with a smirk.
It was times like this that Reena loved her brothers. Doug had decided that it might be best if he just kept quiet, probably a wise move on his part.
Almost as to emphasize the point Peter began a discussion with spock asking him one very precice question - or rather making one very precice comment. "I see you're feeling better today."
Reena smiled at Peter shaking her head. Because the statement was so obvious but the Doctor in him wouldn't have allowed him to say it any differently. And just like that the strained cloud that had been above the table (as far as the siblings were concerned) lifted slightly...
