Though the Leuitenent seemed to want to change the subject, Spock found it neccessary to express himself to her.
"Irina..." he leaned forward and placed his cup down on the table but still held it. He leaned on the surface with his elbows, keeping his eyes transfixed on hers.
"You truly are a beautiful young woman, both on the surface and deep within. Your analysis, your response was not only accurate but deeply insightful and I've taken so much from this conversation... thank you." He paused again, looking from one of her eyes to the other.
"The Enterprise is lucky to have you." His eyes trailed down her soft features, down to her plump, pink lips, where he forced them to look away, back down at the table cloth. He backed up and took the last sip of his tea, the cup now empty.
"I understand what it must be like for you and your siblings. It was like that for my parents and I before my mother passed. Since then, my father and I have had a bit of a falling out. He is a very busy man... but I admire your relationship with them. I know nothing could ever tare you apart." He smiled softly, sitting back in his chair and crossing his legs.
