A smirk grew on Spock's lips as he listened to Irina. "You are very wise for one so young." He nodded.
"Yes, I fought with a few young Vulcan males after quarterly examinations in my seventh year. It seemed they viewed having a half-human as a classmate a personal challenge to try and provoke some sort of emotional response... Today I'm wise enough to see that they were curious and intrigued by someone who was different then they were but as a child it wasn't so easy to manage. Eventually they succeeded by speaking some cruel remarks about my mother. Which was obviously a senistive subject.... I should have not reacted violently and in the end I paid a heavy price for my actions, both on an academic level and a physical one.... I think I still have a small scar on my lip." He said running his finger along his bottom lip. He did indeed have a small scar there.
"Human custom is strange to me. Displays of emotion are seen as weakness amoung the Vulcan."
Taking another sip of tea, Spock listened to Irina speak of her brothers which she did often. It was obvious she loved them very much. "I'm glad everything worked out for your siblings."
