Sirilla had been a jumble of very confusing nerves ever since her Remus had returned. She had missed him, obviously; she'd had quite a bit of heartache in his absence, and had only just started to bounce back from it in the last few weeks. She'd carefully not gotten her hopes up when he didn't return with the first round of people to come back from the time loop that they'd apparently been stuck in, and had been bracing herself for the possibility that he could come back and not remember her at all. She hadn't gotten over him, she'd known that, but she'd started to feel like she could. That it was possible. That, given enough time, she'd manage to move on.
And then he'd come back, and for him it had only been a day. That was its own strange form of torture, because she was absurdly glad to have him back and to be remembered, and a very large part of her wanted to fall back easily into their old pattern and forget that his disappearance had ever happened. But Sirilla had never been good at forgetting, especially when it came to the hardest things in her life. She felt equal parts thrilled and terrified, and did not entirely understand where the fear was coming from. She was going to need to talk to him about it, but whenever he was around it all bottled up and wouldn't come out.
She could tell Trouble was wondering what was going on with her, but he was doing a good job of not asking. She fidgeted in her seat, doing her best to concentrate on the cards while she let her drink sink in and calm her nerves, until she finally gave up and set her cards down. "I'm going mad," she blurted out finally, lowering her head into her hands. Her fingers went deep into her hair, and then she raised her head again, feeling strangely close to hysterical laughter. "This is what..." She couldn't say the word. "You know... really caring about someone does to you, isn't it. It drives you utterly mad."
