Who: Fletcher Parkinson & Tiberius Ogden Jr.thg
When: Thursday
Where: Somewhere?
What: Fletcher's going to go find Tibby.
Rating/status: Low, in progress

Fletcher was annoyed. He wasn't going to lie about it. He was annoyed and frustrated and worried. He knew what he'd done and he knew what he'd said. Really, Tiberius' response shouldn't have surprised him, but it was a lot easier to say all the angry things he felt than all of the things that would give away just how hurt he was, how scared he was. Pansy and Tiberius had been taken from him and it had hurt and the only way he knew how to move forward was to be angry all the time. Was it the best way to deal with things? No. No, it wasn't. Should he have done something differently? Probably. Had he? No.

Tiberius hadn't come and he wouldn't talk to him...apparently, so Fletcher was going to find him. He was going to find him and bring him back to Pansy and Theodore. "I'm going to find Tibby. Don't you leave here. Stay together" was all he'd said before he left. He was determined to find him. Absolutely determined. If he fought, he'd just throw him over his shoulder and drag him back. He'd deal with Tiberius' temper afterward. Pansy could convince him to stay...hopefully.

At any rate, Fletcher would keep him close for some time no matter how many damn bruises or injuries came out of it.

"Because..." Fletcher had a fairly high tolerance for pain, but it wasn't the pain that was distracting. It was their closeness. It only brought a rush of emotions he wasn't willing to deal with and so he let go and turned away. He had to compose himself. He had to stop...whatever it was that was happening because it couldn't happen. He was older and Tiberius was still...Tiberius. Before it wouldn't have mattered. Before, everything would have been fine...but this wasn't before. This was now and he was put together wrong and nothing could be the way it was.

He closed his eyes, forcing his posture to stay correct despite everything. "Nevermind. Maybe you should stay." He nearly winced at the fact that he didn't sound very convincing. "Sorry." He should have turned around but he couldn't. Not before he was composed again.

He brought his eyebrows together in confusion when Fletcher let go of him and took a step backwards. His hand pressed against his arm, where the man's hand had been, and tried to hold the feeling of warmth that had been there in place. His eyes lowered and he went silent. He missed him. It had been five days since things had been semi normal. Since he had been home, wrapped up in his arms, and coping with loss. And now, five days later, he was still coping with a loss but of an entirely different kind. No one was dead but they were no longer the same. None of them. Pansy was different then he remembered, not in a bad way, an Fletcher was completely different. Shut off. Isolated. Hurtful, perhaps without intention.

He didn't know why it hurt just as much for Fletcher to tell him to stay when that was what he was arguing all along. Except...that was it, wasn't it? He didn't want to be alone but he had been hurt. He wanted to talk about it. Even if he didn't admit it. He wanted to feel like things were sort of right again. Even if they hadn't been since Pansy had left them both behind.

"Okay," he said, his voice straining.

A lot had changed in eight years. More in seven. Tiberius' death was the end of everything that mattered. He didn't know how to react to being around either of them again and he couldn't...figure out how to be himself again. He didn't know how to rewind that many years and become everything that he was before.

Tiberius' voice broke whatever progress he'd made and he had to start over again, trying to return to the place where he was pulled together again. "That's what you wanted, isn't it?" There was no way to fully mask his feelings...and he wasn't sure why he'd said anything at all. He'd needed at least five more minutes before he should have spoken again. You want to leave again. At least that he didn't say out loud.

It was another few minutes before he turned around again. "You didn't want to go anyway." And there it was, the mask returned to its proper place.

"No," he said with an air of honesty, though he immediately regretted it. His gaze dropped down and he moved his hand away from his arm, rubbing at the back of his neck, as he examined the sand. He didn't dare vacate the situation, even with the increasing silence between them, even though he probably would have been better off to.

His eyes cast upwards when Fletcher spoke again. It wasn't what he wanted but he didn't know how to properly say what he wanted.

No. It was a simple word and yet it felt a lot more complicated in that moment. Fletcher didn't know what else to say and with Tiberius saying little, it was much more difficult to think of anything. At least not anything that wouldn't lead to discussions he didn't want to have. It was too soon...even if he had practically forced knowledge on both Tiberius and Pansy about their futures only to clam up afterwards.

"I guess I'll..." leave. But that no was still lingering. "What did you..." No. That would lead somewhere uncomfortable. He opened his mouth a couple times in an effort to try to formulate any question that would get him an answer without a drawn out discussion...but he couldn't find the words. "Why?" Which wasn't a clear question at all. He'd meant why did he say no, but he wasn't sure it had come across clear enough.

"I thought you'd been perfectly clear about not wanting to come."
