Can't lead Amie. ([info]willnotbeled) wrote in [info]flippedrpg,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Amie and Justin colour
When: Tonight.
Where: The forest.
What: Awkwardness.
Rating/Status: TBD/Incomplete.

Amie was a little beyond confused. Just because Justin wasn't in his right state of mind didn't mean it didn't hurt. It hurt. Not that she was expecting anything physical to happen between them both soon, but he was hers, or at least that was the way she felt. He had said it didn't mean anything and that they would forget about it, but what about her? Amie didn't know how to handle this but she was trying to be rational. She chose not to run to anyone and to deal with it herself.

And avoid Melinda at all costs.

The young woman was certain the scientists were laughing behind her back, but she didn't care. At least for five minutes, her opinion was out there of what she truly thought of them. From that point on, Amie vowed to not play along with their game. To every question, it would be met with a no, and she would refuse to play along their rules.

So she chose to wear no costume. Clad in jeans, boots, and a cardigan with a cami underneath, Amie trudged her way to where she was meeting Justin. she said nothing would change, but she needed to get over being hurt for no reason at all.

"Hey."

Maybe she wasn't happy to see him. Could he really blame her? Justin wasn't thrilled to be himself right now, but that wasn't new. And being himself worked better than being someone else, he'd learned last night. If she was cross at him, he probably deserved it; if she was hurt, that was maybe worse.

He tried to push his own feelings aside as he had been trying with touch or go success for months

"Yeah, I think so." He looked down at the grass. It was better in the forest than the giant cemetery at least. He wanted to turn off his head which was racing. He was always messed up, at least if she were feeling better that'd be one less thing to worry about, and not only selfishly.

Though he wasn't sure where they'd get or where they stood at present. "I mean, it's confusing, but I've been worse. What about you?"

When he dropped his gaze and stared at the grass, Amie's heart made a jump, or at least that was what it felt like. It was in that moment, she understood what Duke had said. Wanting to be with someone versus needing someone. Amie could be by herself and be okay with it and in some instances she preferred it. Amie found herself not needing to be around Justin, but wanting to be around him.

Amie stepped forward and reached for his hand, lacing his fingers with hers. "I'll be alright." Leaning up, Amie kissed him, offering a small smile of her own. "It wasn't you. We'll get there...just...maybe not in the swinging shagedelic way you did." Giving his hand a squeeze, she pressed her forehead against his.

"I love you."

"I know, and I love you too."

Justin was almost the opposite. His past year had been isolating, sometimes here it was so busy and so bright it could be overwhelming, but he didn't have family here, and most of the kids he knew from school were busy with their own siblings or children or spouses. He guessed there was other him here, but it was really nice having someone he could be close to without having to constantly compare to his reflection.

He needed some sort of contact, palm to palm, if not more. But had clearly learned from his Pirate paramour, that it was more than just skin he needed.

Amie's comment was reassuring in its flippancy and it made him grin to cover a blush as he squeezed his fingers around hers, hand acknowledging hand. He would have reached around her if they weren't so tethered already.

"I'm pretty sure the 60s are over anyway." He wasn't as concerned about ultimate physical ends (though he definitely thought of it on occasion), but really, Justin was still astounded those lines had actually worked when he thought about it.
