Duke honestly wished she would stop asking because it wasn't him being mean, it was actually him trying to help her. And he wanted to keep that secret but she seemed hell bent on finding out what it was.
The memory for today hadn't been a good one. He lived it from his own perspective, albeit a different him, to see Amie when she was younger. But she wasn't too young when things were bad and he was furious at Kirley for being the dick of a father he was. If he ever came back, Duke wouldn't hesitate to hit him, despite his Hufflepuffness.
Tomorrow, at least, he was going to see something happy with her.
"Maybe you should learn to mind your own business," he grinned over at her once she was sitting down. "But before you try to get those answers out of me, how about I tell you some other stuff for a minute? Or you can choose the order, I guess."
