He had taken Padfoot for walks, of course, to throw tennis balls for him and the like. He most definitely did want to spend some time tussling the dog in his human form, but they were far too hyped up for that. What he wanted more than anything in the world right now was to get outside, transform with Sirius, and run. Padfoot and Prongs had been separated for far, far too long.
