Who: DoraTHG & RemusDIV
What: Meeting!
When: Aug. 5, afternoon
Where: Wandering about
Warnings: None?

Dora did miss Christmas world. There was a certain amount of simplicity that had come with that world, and she had allowed herself to get caught up in the sensation of it. She had been happy -- but in the end, she knew that she was still playing something of a part. She was making herself forget where she had come, and the things she had done in order to get there. She had allowed herself to pretend to be somebody who could simply enjoy Christmas, no issues attached.

And it wasn't that she wasn't still happy to be here -- she was interested by this new place, and was eager to see what it had to offer. But, as was being discussed by so many from her world, where did they fit in the scope of a new set of games? She wanted to be able to pretend. She wanted to be able enjoy it as much as some of the other people. But she couldn't bring herself to even go and see what the games happening, much less sign up for an event. Surprise had always been the most dangerous element in the Healy Games. It was the unknown element that lurked around the corner that could bring any tribute to his or her knees. And so she wasn't ready to put herself back into an arena, to have the press of an audience's gaze.

Before recently, she also hadn't considered returning. And that was truly foolish, she knew. But she had just thought -- well, that was really it. She hadn't thought. She had merely enjoyed what was happening, and hadn't examined why she had been taken, or how this world worked. She had accepted that it wasn't a trick of the Capitol, and had dismissed anything else.

She had pushed that all back beneath the surface though, and decided that it was best just to wander around and get her bearings again. She had spent a bit of time in the courtyard, and was now heading slowly toward marketplace, enjoying the warm weather. She didn't exactly mind the new clothes that she had been given. She was used to stupid costumes, so this was hardly anything else. She had her hair piled on the top of her head, curly and light blue for the day.

Despite the forced calm and content atmosphere of the faction Remus had grown up in, he'd been a bit skittish around people. Especially when they came up from his right shoulder. But being trained for Dauntless had stamped that out of him, made him comfortable around people, including strangers, and then he was hardless ever nervous. Dauntless did have a lot of positive things.

Remus laughed quietly, full of breath. "That's right, isn't it?" He glanced up at her hair then, lips forming a small grin. "I figured it was you, even though it's not pink this time. It could have probably just as easily been Theo." And that could have been awkward.

"Yes. They're just full of surprises, aren't they?" Remus meant the scientists that were apparently controlling everything. Taking and giving for the reaction. But why? It was a question he was keeping in mind.

"Oh, no, I've only been out for a few minutes, but the marketplace is really nice." His teeth showed when he smiled.

"Could've been," Dora said teasingly. She figured that was a really mean joke that they could play, pretending to be the other. But that wasn't something she was particularly interested in. She could always pretend to be somebody else. Regardless, she did let it turn pink, although she let it it stay in the curls. Her grin grew wider once that was done.

"What do you think of the compound then?" Dora asked, interested to hear somebody else's opinion. Of course, while she did enjoy being away from her own world, and was taking full advantage of it, she did wonder if she was just wiling herself to be happy with the situation. She was damn good at that. She liked being able to blind herself to the bad of the world, and the truth of the matter was that, when it came down to it, someone still had power over her, and was still trying to make her pretend for a world that wasn't really hers. It made her a bit uncomfortable, and be uncertain on how to act. She didn't know which was the bigger exaggeration -- that the scientists controlled everything or that she was completely content here.
