Journal Justin
It occurred to me that I ought to take better care of myself, so I decided to really learn how to cook. Shocking, I know! Anyone has an idea where I could get lessons? I found a few Muggles places in London, but I'd also like to learn how to cook magically.

But a little step at a time, I totally made scrambled eggs this morning.

[Warded to Seamus]
We're still on for tomorrow morning? I'll try pancakes again.

Are you sure it'll be enough time? I don't mind getting up early. Though it would be less complicated if

I think so. I'm not working until I need to set up for the auction, but if I wake up earlier I'll come over earlier.

Good on you, mate! If you ever want someone to crack some eggs with, I'd be glad to help. Maybe Seamus' new chef could give you a few lessons, you could always ask.

Of course! I'm onto breakfast for now, but eventually I'd like to make more complicated stuff and doing it with you would definitely make me feel safer. You know, in case I need a Healer, haha.

I'll try to go see him soon, see if maybe he can help me out with the basics, yeah.

Next step, frying bacon.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Dear. I might set fire to the flat.

But bacon.

Toast then. With a little bit of marmalade.

I can already do that, it's not too bad. But I want to try French Toasts and pancakes. Those are hard!

I think French toast is easier than regular toast. Every time I think I have the setting just right on a toaster I either don't toast it enough or I burn the bread.

It's the whole egg mixture that I don't get. But I am going to try to find a recipe for it though.

I think there are so many variations out there that you can't really get it wrong. Unless you put red pepper instead of cinnamon. Then again that might be good too if someone likes spicy breakfast.

It's not helping, I really need recipes I can follow. Funny how it feels like I'm flunking Potions all over again.

I was blessed to have Mum. She was an amazing cook and taught me both Muggle and magic ways. Let me know if you want any help.

Mine doesn't cook. Sad, but I suppose I could get her personal chef to teach me how to handle knives at the very least. I'll be sending you food in no time!

I'm sure you'll do just fine. I'll have a container of powdered sugar eagerly awaiting my first round of French toast.

I do love breakfast food and for some reason it doesn't work out. But I'll keep trying, I'll figure it out eventually.

I'm not sure what to recommend, since I'm not sure how it's going wrong for you. Bangers and mash is pretty simple, so maybe start there?

I'll try. I'm Mr Sweet Tooth so I'm more into sweet breakfasts, but I could try those and see if I can do this.

I'll let you know.

Well, most of my sweet breakfasts involve me buying something with yummy cinnamon and maybe icing on it from Sweet Nothings, so. I'm not much of a baker.

They are. Everything I've had there is divine. So I leave the sweets for her to make, unless I'm throwing berries or chocolate chips in some batter or something.

Taking care of yourself is very important, and watching what you eat and how it is prepared is part of all of that. It is good that you are taking this step. I would recommend finding somewhere that teaches nutrition as well as cooking.

I'm so proud of you Justin! Terrified of you burning your flat down while trying to freeze something, but proud! (Okay that was a joke, you're not as hopeless as you always think you are.)

If you need some recipes to make, I can show you how to make a lasagne or something?

That sentence really hurt my brain because I read it literally and thought I couldn't burn down my flat while FREEZING something.

I'm all for learning. Your lasagne is an absolute must! Speaking of freezing, I could make more than one and freeze some for a late night, you think?

HA sorry darling, just my sense of humour rearing it's ugly head. You know how it goes.

I guess it would freeze? Yeah if you don't cook it first then I reckon it could be frozen for at least a month?

Those frozen meals I get, the cheese isn't melted on top, so I suppose they make the sauce, cook the pasta and then put it all in layers in the pan, add the cheese and then freeze.

I am checking videos and it looks doable. It would be nice to make my own frozen dinners yeah?
