"Oh, I'm all for a good run, but I was trying to follow instructions and..." he trailed off with a good-natured shrug. "I really wish they'd told me there were different ponds though."
He laughed. He could imagine the dog could be terrifying, but mostly she seemed friendly and eager right now. He bent his bad leg and reached out his hands to stroke Shadow, which she seemed delighted by. "She's beautiful, although I note you've gone the Hagrid method of naming: irony and everything being adorable," he said with a grin. "Yes, hello," he said, to a very enthusiastic Shadow. He was lucky that most non-lethal animals tended to like him, and he was pretty good with some of the more dangerous ones too.
"You'd be surprised," he said with a laugh. "There's se- six of us siblings," he said, swallowing with a little jolt of grief. "You work with Ron and Percy, there's also Bill, George and Ginny, plus our parents. Pretty big family really." Their extended family was also fairly extensive, it was hardly surprising given their bloodline though. Not that they got on with several elements, but they were family to one degree or another. He knew the Bones name too, but that seemed like something not to bring up, like Fred.
