RP: Move that office!
Who: Cho, Ben, Bryn, Cho, Marietta, Melinda, Richard, Roger [NPCs Events Asst. Carmen & Admin Asst. Amanda] (Started on this journal thread - if you're a friend of a friend or were missed in the first thread, feel free to join in!)
What: Charming Parties moves out of Cho's flat & into its very own office in Diagon Alley!
Where: Diagon Alley
When: Wednesday Day-Night
Status: OPENish / Ongoing

Cho felt like it was Christmas morning. She awoke refreshed and excited and anxious all at once. Carmen was already in the kitchen, making tea from the sound of things, and Cho threw on a casual outfit before putting her hair in a high pony tail. This time tomorrow her flat would be hers again and she felt blessed that Richard had given her the space, and what she knew to be a really good deal, as well.

"Morning, lovely," she chirped, coming out of the bathroom having brushed her tea and gratefully taking the strong cup of tea that Carmen handed her. "Ready for this?"

"I will be once Amanda gets here. She talked my ear off on the floo all night about her promotion to 'full time Admin Assistant' and I'm ready to wallop her, I hardly got a wink of sleep." Her voice was annoyed but she smiled, so Cho knew she was joking, mostly. Carmen was a bit hard to get a smile out of, but Amanda - a year younger than Carmen and barely 21 - had a positive energy that was positively contagious.

"Well at least we're pretty sure she won't be late," just then there was a knock at the door and Amanda came whirling through the apartment all bright colors and extra moving supplies. She really was excited to be taking over Carmen's full time position, now that Carmen had been promoted to full time Events. Soon they'd need at least one more Events Assistant, but Cho would worry about that after she'd paid a couple of months of rent, she figured.

"Morning ladies!" Amanda beamed at them, already getting to work on taping the last of the boxes up and shrinking some of them down which Cho and Carmen just shook their heads and sipped their tea, wondering where on earth she got the energy. Cho's friends would be joining soon and she figured they'd all walk a box over to Diagon, to get the feel for the place and see it themselves, and then could Apparate over with the shrunken boxes for the rest of the things. Cho was confident the boxes wouldn't take long and unpacking of everything could be finished by late afternoon. She'd already ordered pizzas to be delivered around lunch time and figured she could buy a round at Finnigan's after unpacking if anyone wanted to stick around help her and her employees with that bit.

Marietta took advantage of a few extra hours of sleep that morning. If it were to be a day off she wasn't going to waste it by getting up at the crack of dawn if she didn't have to. Besides, she had plans to work that evening. She'd just have to think of a decent excuse to break away around five if they were all still doing whatever it was Cho had planned so she could get ready for the night.

As it stood now she didn't know exactly what it was that Cho had planned but knew her friend well enough to know that a random day off meant comfortable clothing. Therefore she tossed on a light blue sweat pant suit with hoodie and with a printed white tee underneath before pulling her hair back into a pony tail, still leaving some loose tendrils to cover her face. Once she was ready she checked the time and decided that it was late enough to head over without waking Cho if she too had slept in but early enough to make sure they were able to make a day out of whatever had been planned.

With a twist and crack of air filling the space she'd just vacated she appeared just a bit down from her friend's and briskly walked the rest of the way. Upon her arrival she rapped lightly on the door and awaited the invitation to come in.

Cho set her mug down and welcomed Marietta with a bright smile. "Come on in!" She was absolutely glowing today, the nerves from the move and the expansion coming out as bubbly energy instead.

Sweeping her arms around the room, showcasing the boxes and bags, Cho announced, "Finally! We got office space!" She hoped her friends wouldn't mind her conscripting them into a surprise day off of moving, but she figured they'd all be happy for her and glad to have a day together, so maybe that would offset any sore feelings.

"What do you think?" She asked, turning to Marietta as Amanda and Carmen busied themselves in the kitchen.

Marietta couldn't help but smile when she saw her best friend. Cho was one of the few people in the world who had ever been able to get her to drop her guard. So much so in fact, that if anyone else had invited her to spend the day without first explaining why the answer would have been an unequivocal no.

Her eyes followed Cho's motions and she quickly took in the parcels that would need to be transported. "I'm thinking we need a few lightening spells and a decent size transport depending upon how far away we're sending everything."

Cho giggled. "About moving! What do you think? Am I crazy? Once everyone's here we'll all walk over - it's just on Diagon - and then we can shrink down and apparate with the rest. Good plan, right?"

Her smile was nearly manic as she explained.

"I think you have finally made a brilliant decision," Marietta replied. That was one thing Marietta had vowed to herself that she would never do, mix home and business. Then again, the last thing she needed was a client or better yet their significant other showing up unannounced at her residence.

Without being asked she went ahead and began checking some of the boxes for weight. If they were more than about fifteen pounds she went marked them as needing a spell that would make them easier to carry. She knew that a heavier weight could be carried but it was always more fun to carry something that was light but not so light as to easily lose balance. "Who all is joining you today?"

Considering Cho had already told her that she was moving her business out of her flat, it hadn’t come as a surprise to Melinda that she had gathered up the group of friends to help with the move. Still, it had been brilliant seeing people’s reactions to the news, and personally, Melinda was thrilled for her friend and so proud that she was finally taking this step. On top of that, she was happy that Cho would once again have a place that was completely her own, and not her work place too.

Now that all the boxes had been moved from the flat, Melinda had started arranging the binders on the shelves, making sure to follow Cho’s intricate system to keep them in the right order and sequence. Without thinking, she simply reached back, fully expecting the next binder to be handed to her, just like the first ones had. “Can’t be too many left,” she mused.

Roger grinned happily, still absolutely delighted that Cho had decided to make the big step and expand her business. He knew with every fibre of his being, that it was absolutely the right thing to do and he couldn't wait to watch her take on more success.

"Hey you," he said, bumping his hip against Melinda's happily as he lugged a bunch of files over to her. "These are the last of them!"
