RP: Swimming Owl, Splashing Wiggle, and Wet Rose
Who: Rose and Rolf, Ant and an owl
What: There’s an owl in the bathtub and then an almost 8-months old Irish Wolfhound
Where: Rolf’s bathroom
When: Sunday September 27, 2005 – late morning
Rating: SFW – for now, potential NSFW: language… but it’s Rose and Rolf, so basically: will update as the thread progresses.

As Rolf had headed down to take care of the animals in the shop this morning, Rose had taken Ant to the park to give him a run and then continue the training she had started with him. He was getting big – huge really – but he was also getting really good at both locating and avoiding the cursed objects she had set up for him. Even better, he was now able to discern when she wanted him to do what. Rose couldn’t be prouder, so after he had successfully completed the round of assignments, she had let him run free which meant that he had happily found and made good use of every single puddle and muddy patch.

Back by Rolf’s building, she had made Ant wait outside, while she had gone upstairs to get the bathtub filled before she had gone to pick up the muddy wiggle. Only, when they had gotten back to the bathroom, there had been an owl swimming lazily around in the filling water. Generally, Rose was pretty unflappable, but this? This was so unexpected and so out of her territory that she had immediately taken to the journal to put words to her surprise. And then it had simply gone from surprise to pure mayhem in a matter of moments: As Ant spotted the owl he had first looked at it, then whimpered to get to it and finally made an impressive leap into the filled bathtub, splashing water everywhere. Anything that wasn’t wet by now was drenched a minute later when the wiggle shook himself, sending water flying everywhere.

Rose stood in the middle of the floor, her wand and quill in one hand and her journal in her other, drenched to the skin as Ant joyfully jumped around in the water while the owl was simply looking up at him, not a hint of intimidation on its little face. Spitting out a drip of dirty water that had gotten in her mouth, she brushed aside a dripping strand of hair that had washed down over her forehead and into her eyes.

Rolf couldn't help but snicker quietly to himself, trying not to outright laugh at his witch because, well, she was a witch and he very much respected her spell casting abilities. And he didn't want to end up spouting bad poetry or something horrendous.

He grinned at the dog as he looked expectantly at him. "Up here, Ant," Rolf said, patting his shoulders to go through with a trick he'd more recently taught the large puppy. "Godzilla, Ant! Godzilla!" Rolf gripped the dog's scruff. They both snarled almost silently at each other, both fakely fierce, and then Rolf said, "Kisses! Kisses!" and the dog proceeded to bathe his face with his dog enthusiastically. His tail didn't stop wagging during any point in the process. "Good boy, Ant! Good boy! What a good wiggle!" He wooled his face against Ant's enthusiastically before telling the animal to get down now. Rolf clapped. "What a good boy!" He pluck a treat from a slightly damp pocket and fed it to the obedient animal.

"Now, let's pull Rosie out of the bath," he told the dog, approaching his girlfriend, grinning, and he held out his hands to her to help her out. "Up we go, love."

Rose watched with a fascinated grin as Rolf played with Ant. She had no clue what ‘Godzilla’ meant, but obviously Ant did, and it made her heart swell for both the man and wiggle in front of her. She still had a hard time seeing him as anything but the tiny squirmy thing she had found in that box back in February.

Taking Rolf’s hand, she let him pull her up as she stemmed her calves against the edge until she was standing. The water was running off her, dripping from her clothes, and flowing over the floor to the drain under the sink. “How come I’m wetter than the wiggle?” she smirked. “And dirtier than when I first came back.”

He had to chuckle slightly. "I'm really not sure, but you are. Probably because you can't shake it off as well as he can. Are you all right, though? You didn't hurt yourself as you fell, did you?" he asked, his fingers running up the back of her neck and gently prodding her scalp, checking her for head wounds.

Once he was assured she wasn't too bad off, he smiled at her and leaned in to carefully kiss her. Him playing with Ant reminded him of some training he'd been working on with the dog that he wanted to work with in conjunction with Rose, but he would bring that up later.
