Dear Adrian,

I'm writing to you with an unusual request today, in fact it's more like asking for a favour. I need some potions ingredients for my new project which can only be gathered from forests and heavily wooded areas, which I am unable to go to without being triggered. I was wondering if I could pay you to gather these items for me?

Usually I ask a particular assistant at the supply shop, but unfortunately he is currently on an extended holiday-cum-research trip, and my mentor, who I would otherwise ask is away on a painting trip all week and I'd like to start sooner rather than later. Unfortunately her current apprentice has not yet been trained in gathering these particular ingredients and and I really don't want to ask my ex or the prat that doesn't like me this is outside the area of expertise of the other two artists.

As I said I'm happy to pay you for your time and expertise. Some of the items are readily available to buy, but I prefer to have them as fresh as possible, particularly given the scale of the project I'm undertaking I'd like the best ingredients available. Some of the ingredients would be slightly unusual requests which are, as far as I'm aware, particular to the way in which artists use them. For example I know one plant which has use only for its flowers and fresh stems in regular potion making requires the extremely woody roots for my purposes.

If you are able to help me please let me know as soon as possible and I will provide you with a list of ingredients and specific instructions about collection where there are any.

Yours sincerely,

Dean Thomas.

Dean,
I'm happy to. This time of year is a beautiful time to be out hunting ingredients and it will do me good to get out of the lab if Alicia is right (which she always is).

You never have to worry about asking me this sort of thing, though I'm sorry to hear your usual network is so unavailable.

Please send me the list along with details for gathering and deadlines.
Best,
Adrian

Adrian,

Thank you very much for agreeing to help. I've attached a list of everything I need with minimum amounts and the weird instructions. And this week is what I'd prefer, sooner rather than later. I've grouped things according to what I need together, so if you can do one group before the other that'd be fine.

I think I just managed to hit really bad timing on everyone else though. Usually one or the other is available.

I've written the studio Floo address and apparition points on the bottom of the list. The Floo arrives in one of the meeting rooms. There should be someone around in yelling distance during office type hours and they'll be happy to show you to my room. Or you're welcome to owl them, but I'd prefer to see you if possible.

Thanks,
Dean

Dean,
Thank you for the extra information. I'm going to spend Tuesday in the field, if that helps your schedule. I'll stop by Wednesday evening (if that's all right; I can come during 'bank hours' Thursday if that's better), as it will give me time to go through everything.
Let me know which you prefer,
Adrian

Adrian,
No problem, that should work great. I'm happy to hang around on Wednesday until you turn up. It's not unusual for me to be around late, I can get on with the rest of my prep. I might be the only one around so you'll have to yell loud or wait for me to come down to the door, depending on which way you come.
Dean
