RP: Slight interrogation [Backdated to Mon 24th]

Even though Katie had left the party a little before Angie she was relatively certain her friend would still be awake and she abused her ability to enter Ali's house, carefully skirting seeing anybody. She'd dropped off at her flat to leave her shoes, camera and bag behind. None of those was going to be necessary. He was still wearing her fancy dress and had her wand in hand.

She didn't bother knocking, just opened Katie's bedroom door, closed it behind her and spread herself across it, grinning wickedly at Katie.

"So, tell me. Tell me everything, because your blush is still a dead give away," she demanded. Right after that she flung up a quick charm up to further muffle the noise from the room. She didn't want to disturb either the twins or Ali, even if she completely planned on telling Ali whatever she found out at the first opportunity. "What happened with you and Oliver?"

Katie had taken a quick bath and put on her sleep clothes; unfortunately for her, they worked against her this evening- gold tank top and navy blue shorts. Hearing her friend come through the door so quickly and start speaking caused her more than a little confusion. "What the hell... what? Who?"

Once it all connected, she turned a bright red. Katie was rubbish at hiding things from Angie and Ali at least. "Nothing's going on. What's got you thinking otherwise? He's our friend - you know that." She didn't mean to defend herself like this, but she was startled after all.

Angie wasn't bothered that Katie clearly took a few seconds to connect what she was actually saying. It meant that when the blush appeared it was definitely obvious. "And there it is again," she crowed, delighted, gesturing to Katie's face.

"Now, I'm not saying you're not friends with him, because, well, duh," she said. "But I'm saying there's something you're not telling me," she sing-songed. It was like being a teenager again, invading friends' rooms and beds to gossip about boys. "Because I somehow don't think you'd turn that colour if I mentioned George, or Lee," she said.

Katie took the opportunity for distraction. "There's a name I haven't heard in years," Katie said, sitting on her bed. She made sure there was room for Angelina because she knew Angie wasn't leaving without answers - even if Katie wasn't quite sure what the answers were."Where is Lee at? Have you heard from him?"

Angie was right, very few men could elicit such a blush from Katie. The first time she and Oliver dated she was sure she stayed red faced for days. Of course, Ali and Angie, not out of meanness, did not help matters.

"Sorry, not a clue, I'm almost as out of the loop as you are," she said. "And don't try and change the subject. I shall not be defeated!" She squinted suspiciously at Katie and then clambered on the bed after her. She curled her bare legs up so they were mostly hidden under the fabric of her dress, looking expectant.

"Seriously though, there aren't many things that can make you blush like that... actually no that's a total lie, but I wanna knoooow," she whined, giving Katie a pleading look. She was exaggerating, of course, Katie's blush wasn't quite that easy to set off, but it was fun to tease a little. And it honestly did seem to get set off when she had something to hide about a guy she liked.

Katie sighed and leaned against the headboard. What was the best way to go about this. "Oliver and I are just friends." Which wasn't a lie nor the whole truth. Sure, they snogged some. It'd have to take a bit more prodding to get everything out of her. "We've gone and had drinks at the pub once or twice."

She stared down at the comforter, face still pink. "We're just friends." Katie had said the same thing in Hogwarts too, and that was after another student caught them snogging.

Angelina nodded thoughtfully, sensing this was truth but maybe not all of it. "Mmmhmm," she said. "I am also friends with Oliver. I haven't been to the pub with him in ages," she pointed out.

She chuckled slightly, the staring down at the bed a bit of a giveaway as far as she was concerned. Even as the bed wobbled slightly with her laughter she gave Katie a kind smile. "And is this the sort of friendship which is sometime attached at the mouth? Because I thoroughly approve as long as you're not messing each other around."

Katie got a sly grin on her face. "Yeah. Something like that." Katie thought about Angelina's comment. "I don't think we're messing each other around. At least, I don't think I'm messing him around. I had a couple of blokes that I was talking to, but I've pretty much pushed them to the side, for now." She was very unsure as to what was going on between her and Oliver.

She let out a long sigh. "I don't know what to think. I honestly had not thought of Oliver in any type of romantic way since we were in school and I see him once and suddenly I'm all ... blushing over him. I don't get it. But fuck all if he didn't get ..." Katie had no words for how Oliver looked. "He was a good looking bloke before but now..."

Listening indulgently as Katie tried to explain what was going on Angie forgave her the lack of coherence. Feelings could do that, or something that could perhaps turn into feelings. "Well I don't fancy giving out two rounds of admonishments to not be dicks so that's good," she said.

She couldn't help but snicker slightly at the description of Katie's reaction to Oliver. "Well, he always has cut a fine figure in his robes," she said. She had to admit that she hadn't ever really categorised him as more than a friend, but she could admit his good looks. "He really did grow into it though. Just beware the continued Quidditch obsession if you actually start something more than random snogging. She's more fixated than anybody else I know!"

"I don't know if this is going to go somewhere or if it'll be like Hogwarts - random snogging and then just fade apart to the extent we don't realize it." This was the truth, and Katie wouldn't feel bad about it. She didn't have to know if they were "together" or not. Talking about such things always made her a little nervous.

Katie couldn't help but laugh at Angelina's last statement, "It's good to know some things never change, I guess. But it doesn't really surprise me at all. As long as he remains a good kisser, I can put up with Quidditch; besides, I'm busy enough with the Falcons. Feel free to admonish me as you see it."

"Random snogging is good," she agreed. "I do like a good bit of random snogging myself," she said, slouching back with the languor of alcohol and a good time running through her body and making her relax. She sometimes had random snogs with people if she went out dancing to a club. It was good to feel wanted, even if it didn't go anywhere else.

"Oh yeah, still good then?" she asked, waggling teasing eyebrows. If she'd had her legs free from her dress he might have nudge Katie with her toes. She remembered finally prising that particular nugget of information out of Katie back in school.

Katie's sly grin came back and nodded, "Sweet Circe, yes. He got better. Of course, I don't want to know how he got better, but he did. Of course, I was very young and inexperienced at the time." She then shrugged. "He got better."

Katie got quiet for a moment, "I wonder how he is in other ways, you know..." she said, a slight pink to her cheeks.

"Mmm, ageing can be a beautiful thing," she agreed.

Angie bit her lips to prevent the first three thoughts that crossed her mind from escaping. She's always been of a rather filthier bent than Katie. Not that they didn't talk about stuff at all, but her mouth tended to get away with her. "So many comments," she said ruefully, and then thought about it and said "fuck it."

"So, we know he's always had a good pair of hands, which you can maybe use for more than just a quaffle. Ah ah," she said, to forestall any comments before she could get through them all. "You've determined his mouth is good for one thing, and maybe it's good for something else," she said with a pointed look at Katie's shorts. "And last but by no means least, you can test the old 'save a broom, ride a quidditch player' thing, which I guarantee he will have heard before but can still be surprisingly effective," she said, clearly speaking now from experience. She grinned winningly, hoping she hadn't pushed over the line.

Katie could always count on Angelina for telling it like it is and laughed. "I've already had those thoughts. But he's being reserved, which is good, but I'm having the hard time behaving." Katie was by no means pure, but definitely the more conservative of the two.

Katie followed Angelina's gaze. "Bloody hell, Puddlemere! This wasn't intentional, I swear."

"Ooooh, misbehaving, Ms Bell? How very bad of you!" she teased before sobering. "But really, the slow is probably good. You know me. I'm all short flings and disastrous results. Which only leads to more time with magically operated devices than human beings," she said.

She snickered at Katie's reaction. "Well, maybe no consciously. Maybe your quiet little voice in the back of your head has something else in mind though!"

"Yeah, I hear you. Slow is alright. I'd hate to ruin our friendship over unneeded awkwardness. Besides, it's only been a couple months since Michael, he was a beater for the Thunderers if you recall, and I called it quits. Not saying I'm hung up, but it's logical." Despite the timing, that wasn't why she left Australia. "Sometimes magically operated devices are better than people."

Katie paused and shrugged "maybe my subconscious is getting tired of such devices," she laughed.

"Oh, very true. No need to make the friendship all awkward if the snogging doesn't lead to other things." She tilted her head, she'd forgotten about that particular entanglement of Katie's. "Yeah, I remember. What happened with you guys?"

"When it's all you've got most people are likely to get fed up of them after a while," she pointed out.

Katie shrugged, "I think we just drifted apart, kind of. After two years, he started talking of elevating our relationship to another level. Better known as 'let's get married.' Personally, I wasn't for that. I loved him and could imagine it, but it wasn't going to happen. Before he asked I was getting homesick. And then it just startled fizzling out. I really don't regret it, honestly. He was a great bloke and will make a great husband for someone. Not me." Katie wasn't sure if she had told anyone. They faded out so quietly without dramatics that she never brought it up.

"Sorry all the same," Angie said, giving her a sympathetic smile. "Although I guess in the long run it's better you stopped now rather than getting married in regretting it." At least they'd had an amicable break up. It was more than could be said for some of Angelina's relationships, such as they were.

Katie got a mischievous grin, "great shag though. I probably could have lived with being married to him." Katie cut her eyes to Angelina, "we could find Lee and hook you up with him. Or between all the Quidditch players we know, find you a nice young man," she teased, trying to sound like her mum.

"Well, that's a good compensation," she agreed. "Or would have been."

Then Katie went and mentioned setting her up and she wrinkled her nose. "You sound like my mother. Just because Evan has his nice, properly ladylike, girlfriend doesn't mean I'm ready to be all coupled up. And shagging either teammates or the competition can be a bit of a dangerous prospect," she pointed out. The fact the two she worked most closely with were pretty involved with shagging each other limited her in-team options. Plus taking up with a fellow player in the first few months after arriving on a team just seemed like a recipe for disaster given her track record.

"Yeah, still haven't learned that lesson. Especially being staff. The Thunderers had no issue because it didn't affect either of our jobs. We were professional enough; however professional we can be, afterall." Katie said grinning. "We'll get you all ladylike and ready to be coupled up before too long. I'll help your mum." Katie knew turnabout was fair play, so she'd accept it when it came her way.

"Oh, if you can keep it professional it's fine. I just know how my relationships tend to go," she said. She knew a fair few couples who straddled the work line like that, it just seemed a bad idea for her personally.

She raised her hands to fend Katie off. "Oh no, no, no. I want someone who can deal with me as I am. You know, bit mouthy and angry, and silly and inappropriate. I'm not immediately changing who I am just because of a man. Although I won't deny regular sex would be nice."

"Angelina Johnson is an angry person? Never. She's sweet as can be... breaking into people's bedrooms and interrogating them over someone a person may or may not have shagged." Katie loved the different personalities of her friends. She knew when she asked them to be honest about something, they would be even if it wasn't something she wanted to hear.

"I think when you find the right one he'll be just as mouthy as you but think you're just as lady like as Evan's girlfriend."

Angie maturely stuck her tongue out at Katie. "I didn't break in. I simply opened the door... and stood in front of it to prevent you leaving," she said innocently. "Besides, I was nice enough to not interrogate you in front of Lucy. That's gotta count for something!"

"He can treat me like a lady. If he thinks I am one he clearly hasn't spent enough time with me." She paused. "You do realise I basically think his girlfriend is a stuck up cow, right?" The familial love between her and her brother was best kept at a distance. That definitely extended to his girlfriend.

"I do thank you for not interrogating me in front of strangers." Katie wasn't shy, just very private about her affairs. "And yes, I'm well aware of your feelings across the board."

Katie thought a minute, "I'm also thankful you didn't just blurt out 're you and Oliver shagging?' because I probably would have ignored your question."

"Well, yes, but I've known you too long to do that. No matter how tempting," she pointed out.

She opened her mouth to speak again only to slap her hand across it as she suddenly yawned hugely. "Oh Circe, I am glad I have a later start tomorrow, but I should probably go sleep. And let you have dirty dreams about Wood." She sighed and shook her head. "Nope. I've been trying to think of a decent joke and that was just crap."
