Theo didn't think he loved anything as much as Aidan seemed to love flying... maybe thestrals? But there was a definite longing for flight in Aidan's tone and look and the very fabric of his house and Theo had never loved something as much as that. Maybe now that he didn't have to live under the fear of having anything he cared about taken from him at his father's whim he could learn to do so? He should probably start with not squashing any hope of such a change out of his heart before it could really take root. "It must have been hard to take a break from it." he commented. It didn't occur to him to state his preference, even if it might cause issues down the line; he had his own issues with his sexuality.
He watched the cat worriedly as it called to him, thinking illogically that he'd done something to offend it - maybe it wanted to sit where he was sitting or something - until Aidan reassured him that this wasn't the case.
He reached down a little tentatively to do as Aidan had said, rewarded with the way the cat reared up to meet his approaching hand, pushing it's head into Theo's palm the way cats did when they demanded attention. Theo stroked his hand down her soft back and the smile that came to him when the cat answered with a mrowling purr was one rarely seen on the haunted boy's face. "What's her name?" he asked curiously.
