Entry tags:character: lisa turpin, character: vikesh moon, status: complete

Who: Vikesh Moon and OPEN
What: Yoga class and maybe some meditation
Where: Finnigan's - The Roost
When: September 8, noon
Status: OPEN / Incomplete

Vikesh pulled off his light shirt as he moved to the front of the room and tossed it to where he had dropped his bag. That left him in a pair of soft and worn terrycloth trousers that were frayed at the edges, and otherwise he was bare-chested and bare-footed. Today, he could forget about losing streaks and frustrated teammates, injured housemates and aggravating quidditch reporters. For one glorious hour, he could share his knowledge and passion with many others.

He stretched out his body as the others arrived, watching them move to their mats. Once the clock at the rear chimed noon, he settled facing the room, placed his hands before him, and made a bow.

"We will begin with a sun salutation, and after that, we will go through a series of postures that will open up the chakras and help us get in touch with our bodies. As we go, I will also show you variations of the poses for any of you who are looking for a greater stretch."

[OOC - to make things simpler, I will subdivide the thread in 2, one for during the lesson and one for after.]

"That's one way to look at it," he replied with a slight nod of approval.

He was very much taken aback by her admission. This was yet one of the many reasons he remained celibate during the quidditch season (and tempted him to do so the rest of the year). How could a woman not let the father of her child know he was a father? Other people may have said nothing or tried to be diplomatic, but that wasn't how Vikesh was raised. Blunt honesty, even if it humiliates you, even if the reaction is horrific, because truth and humility are more important than a pretentious lie.

"Whatever the situation, every man deserves to know he has a child. A lie, even by omission, is still a lie and will bring you bad karma. Don't you realize this lie will come back on you one day? We reap what we sow." The words may have seemed harsh, but they were spoken out of concern.

What Vikesh was saying was nothing Lisa hadn't heard before, from her grandparents and from herself. Every time she looked at Christopher she was reminded of the choices she'd made, even though she'd thought they'd been the best ones at the time. It just wasn't comfortable hearing them from someone else.

But she fought the urge to snap at him. "It's...complicated." It was a weak excuse, but it didn't make it any less true. So many years had gone by, she wouldn't even know how to begin. "I'm working on it." It wasn't exactly true, but it wasn't a lie either. She was at least thinking about it, and had been since coming back. She wouldn't be able to avoid Blaise forever.

"Well, I have to get back to the shop. Thanks for the session, and I'll see you again. If you ever stop into the bookstore, we have some books you might find interesting."

"Thank you, I'll definitely pay a visit between games. I wish you a good day at work."

He opened his bottle to take one final pull of water before moving to retrieve a towel from his bag. He hoped she came back as she said, as she seemed like someone in dire need of enlightenment. Yoga and meditation could do wonders, even for those who didn't believe as he did. He just appreciated the opportunity to share some of his knowledge with others.
