Journal - Bryce
I feel as though I've learned an important lesson today - a kitten is much harder to bathe than a child, even if it is significantly smaller.

I didn't know cats needed baths. I thought they took care of that themselves...

Usually, yes, or at least, that's my understanding. Except that today he was investigating my coffee mug and managed to tip it over and get himself covered. It seemed prudent to not let him get sticky. He didn't seem to appreciate my concern though.

Oh no! Poor kitty. Is it alright? Are you alright?

Yeah, he's fine - thankfully it had gone cold. I've got some scratches and tiny bite marks on my hands and wrists, but nothing serious.

I wouldn't know so much about children, but felines in general are not fans of water with a couple of breed exceptions. And claws hurt.

Also, fur is surprisingly slippery when wet, I've found.

I hope you're dry again now!

He was not pleased with the experience, no.

I was surprised about that, and yes, he was a slippery little bastard!!

I am dry and he is hiding under my daughter's bed while she tries to coax him out.

If you regularly and gently expose him to water at a young age, he may end up being easier to bathe than a child.

It's definitely something to try! Though maybe not for a while since I'm not keen on repeating today's experience soon.

I had a cat growing up that loved water, though I suspect he thought he was a dog considering he grew up with two. That's it! Get a dog and maybe you'll be so lucky that they become the best of friends bath time is easy.
