Drunk & Angry
Who: Greg and Open (and two NPCs)
What: Greg is drunk and angry - who wants to take him on?
Where: Finnigan's
When: Monday 27th July, late
Rating: NSFW language

Greg hadn't meant to get drunk, exactly. It had been a shit day - George hadn't taken kindly to his own trick backfiring on him and had spent most of the afternoon taking it out on Greg, ordering him up and down the stairs, criticising him in front of customers, making snide remarks under his breath. Several hours of that had taken Greg from merely grumpy to quietly furious. Once at home, he'd finished off the bottle of nice whisky he'd received for his birthday and, still feeling like drinking, made his way to Finnigan's to prop up one corner of the bar as he spent too many of his hard-earned sickles on inferior product.

Two middle-aged men next to him were debating the upcoming Quidditch season and Greg half-listened as they debated the likely merits of Capper's captaincy of Tutshill. He ordered another glass as they moved on to the British League in general, discussing the various changes to the line-ups. "Appleby are keeping pretty much the same team, more's the pity," one of them said, catching Greg's full attention. "If they shook it up they might actually have a chance at the final this year." Greg grunted a thank you to the bartender as the second man added, "You'd think they'd take a hint from losing to the Bats."

"They don't need to change their line-up," Greg said, interrupted, scowling. "They're the best team." One of the men laughed, making Greg want to hit him.

"If they were the best, they'd have won already," he said, unkindly. "I hate delusional supporters." His friend nodded in agreement and added, "What they really need to do is get rid of Flint. He's a decent player, but kicking that Death Eater scum off the team would do wonders for morale."

Greg was on his feet in an instant, fingers curled around his wand as he pointed it at the man who'd spoken. "You - shut up," he shouted, his words even louder in the hush that had settled.

Greg raised an eyebrow. "You remember the score?" That was the mark of a true quidditch fan, and often more than Greg could do, not having a head for figures. "The Kestrels lost too, I think." The Cannons had actually had a better season than was usual for them - but they'd always be the joke of the league.

He shrugged. "I don't have any siblings." And if he did, Greg knew enough to know he would be considered the dumb one, most likely. "I've always supported Appleby. Even when Marcus played for Falmouth." He'd taken in interest in Falmouth's scores then, of course, but he'd still supported Appleby - and Marcus had understood that.

"The season starts again soon," Greg said, reminding himself more than Megan. "I'll get to go to a match."
