Memo to Lucy Spinks
Lucy,

Back in the office Monday afternoon and look to be there for at least thru Wednesday.

In the mean time, give any thought to going further with your new broom, actually entering a novice race and see how well you do? If so, I've got something you might be interested in.

Rich

Afternoon,

Sorry I wasn't here to greet you. I went back to Sheffield for the weekend so I took a half day.

Given it lots of thought, and as much practice as I can fit in around everything else. What've you got?

Lucy

No worries. Does everyone good to get away from the madhouse every now and then.

Talked to my partners at Blue bottle. If you do decide to pursue racing, we can't pay you to fly or you'd lose your amateur status, and no offense, but you're not ready to run against the pros. We can, however, pick up your travel expenses and race fees as sponsors if you run and promote Bluebottle Brooms. Even if you'd just be a weekend racer like I am.

No need to feel constraints to win at any cost, though. What we're most interested in from you would be a series of articles on learning to fly, learning to race, racing, and flying on a Bluebottle C-Class. I've a racing friend who writes for Witch Weekly who has agreed to help you with editing and submissions until you hit your stride. Anything you'd make off publication would be yours, of course.

I see the possibility of several good things here: Examining the traditions of flight instruction that had a natural like you out of school thinking she couldn't fly, attaching some celebrity to your name and taking a poke at the Ministry so they can never treat you like they did before, get some good publicity for Bluebottle, and give you an excuse to go out racing as much as possible.

What do you think?

Rich

No offense taken - I'm still not completely sure I'm ready to run against anyone, but I'm working on it! Maybe we should wait until I've done at least a couple of races before we talk about sponsorship. I wouldn't want to embarrass you all by losing, but I'm happy to keep flying Bluebottle Brooms either way.

Those articles sound like something I could do, though. Any particular time constraints? Weekly? Monthly? Whenever? I like to know these things.

Lucy

P.S. Have you talked to Millicent lately?

Hit a novice race or two and see how you feel, then, if you think that's better for you.

Call (NPC) Jerry Givens at (number) and see what works out best for your schedule.

Mils has been going one way and I've been off another lately. What's up?
