Pool Party!
Who: Lucy and open to everyone invited - please tag your characters!
What: Pool party!
Where: Mews House, Hanover Terrace
When: Wednesday 22nd July, 3pm til late
Rating: SFW, there's children present!

Lucy hadn't intended the times on the invitation to be really taken seriously - they were more an indication of the hours she was free and she was hoping people would drift in and out as it suited them. It had been a display of pool toys in a pound shop near Tufnell Park that had inspired the whole idea, and there was a collection of them already floating across the surface of the water.

Outside in the garden there were tables for food, which would be produced later, and coolers for soft drinks. The alcoholic punch was in Susan's fridge - warded so that the underage guests couldn't get at it by accident (or by design).

Bryce [and Sophie] and Open (4:30 PM)

"One more time, what are the rules about water?" Bryce asked his daughter as the entered the house, one of her hands wrapped in his own. The little sighed and then repeated, "No going in by myself, ask before going in with someone who's not Daddy, keep the floaties on, and no putting my head in it."

"Very good," he answered, not particularly concerned that she sounded exasperated with him. "And no running, at all." Sophie nodded in response to this, and even if he was still a little worried - there were a lot of things that could be dangerous here - he couldn't help smiling at her. She was dressed in a pink and black swimsuit with pink water wings and a
inner tube with her two favorite Disney princesses around her waist, all of which had been presents from her aunts. Bryce himself had on a plain black pair of swimming trunks and a gray t-shirt, even less concerned about fashion that he was on any other day. He also had a bag over his shoulder with a change of clothes for both of them (two, in Sophie's case) as well as three towels - a lesson learned after the last time she'd dropped her first one in the water at the beach.

As he contemplated the logistics of how the rest of the afternoon would work, his thoughts were interrupted by Sophie asking, "Is Tristan gonna be here?" He had to force himself to keep walking at a normal pace, and tried not to let any of the seven different things he felt about that question show on his face. "I don't know, princess, but if he isn't you can't be too upset about it, okay?" For a moment it looked as though this answer wasn't going to be good enough, but then she shrugged and said, "Okay."

Letting out a small sigh of relief, Bryce decided the best course of action for his own sanity was a bit of distraction. "Go say thank you to Lucy for inviting us, and then come right back. Then we can get in the water," he told her, and when she grinned, he let go of her hand, and started to take off. "Walk, Sophie," he called out after her, watching her deliberately slow her pace.
