Who: Roger and Marcus
What: Food and convalescing
Where: Roger's flat

Rating: Currently SFW

All in all, Marcus figured that since it could have taken a lot longer to run his errands and get everything he needed, he was making good time by showing up in the early afternoon. Though a part of him would have liked to have been here at the crack of dawn, it was better to have let Roger get as much rest as possible.

He stood in front of the door for a few moments, unsure why it seemed like such a monumental thing to reach up and knock. Once he'd berated himself for being idiotic, he managed to actually to it, making sure that the sound was loud enough to be heard, but not so much so that it would wake someone who was sleeping.

As he waited, Marcus couldn't help tugging down the left sleeve of his shirt, a nervous habit that he didn't realize he had half the time, and got annoyed with half the time he did notice. Letting out a small sigh, he couldn't help running the hand that wasn't currently holding his bag of stuff through his hair, glancing between the floor and the door.

"There is that," Marcus said with a small nod of his head, because the chance to beat Moon at anything was worth a little embarrassment, and at least he'd been able to mostly laugh it off. And it had been good publicity for the team, so he'd endured the interview and the pictures and the general annoyance that that entire debacle had been. He had to ignore the small, warm weight that settled in his stomach at the concept of being Roger's date to anything, and only the thought of the innumerable problems it would cause kept him from apologizing for having had to turn down that offer at the time. That, and that he actually had had a prior engagement anyway, and it would have been impolite to break those plans for something so frivolous. Shaking his head in amusement at Roger's comment about the reporter, because anyone who knew Oliver Wood in the slightest was aware that he was straighter than a ruler.

The smile he got twisted something in Marcus' gut, even as he answered with a chuckle, "Between those two, I don't think I have a preference."

"That woman needs to mind her own business," he managed to comment after a moment. Marcus couldn't bring himself to correct Roger's assumption about his preferences - he'd only ever admitted that out loud once, and shortly afterwards had found himself entrenched with the Death Eaters and the Mark on his arm. He didn't validate it either though, because he wasn't going to lie.

He did finally tense slightly at the feeling of Roger against his side, though he forced himself to relax with a slow exhale of breath. Out of habit, he tried to turn his head to look at Roger when he spoke, and wound up with a face full of the man's hair instead. Trying not to think about how good the younger man smelled, he answered, "The curry is good. The... movie," again, with his exacting pronunciation of a word he'd never used before, "is very... interesting." And confusing, though he thought he understood most of what was going on.

Roger grinned at Marcus' set jaw at the mention of beating Moon out for the title. "You're way sexier than Moon," he said with a wink. "I agree with the article when it said that Moon looks like he could take you out for sexually frustrated evening, while you look like you'd wine, dine, and uh," he paused with a smirk. "How did she put it? Oh yes, 'take it to the bedroom and turn every woman into a screamer' wasn't it?" He watched Marcus close his eyes in embarrassment and held up his hands. "Hey it can't be worse than 'Davies is the kind of man we're not afraid to admit we'd cheat on our wives with, only to find out he's been doing our wives as well' can it? That was mildly insulting. Well no, very insulting."

He rolled his eyes and gave Marcus an amused look. "It has either layers of eggplant or layers of potato in it and I was wondering which you'd prefer, silly. Potato just makes it a... well a sort of shepherd's pie without the mashes potato. I was more checking that you didn't object to eggplant."

"She just wanted you to work some steam off. I mean Wright was going around telling everyone that you and her had slept together, so I assumed you wouldn't need any help in that department. Especially not from someone like me," he said with a wry little twist of his mouth, wishing that he could be the type of person that Marcus would fall for. He laughed at a sudden memory and smiled shyly at the older man. "My friend Ben reckons you're gay actually, says his gaydar is one hundred percent accurate. But I think that's less gaydar and more wish-he-was-gaydar."

Roger felt himself relaxing into the other man's shoulder. "Mmhmm," he agreed, with another yawn. "I love their curries. They make me happy." He yawned again. "You make me happy too," he added. Sitting up for a moment, he picked up a cushion and put it in Marcus' lap before resting his head on it and stretching out. He sighed as the muscles in his chest, stomach, and back stretched. "You know if you like these, I could take you to a cinema. Totally blow your mind with Leicester Square."

Roger's quotations of that awful article brought back the memories of wanting to hide (ironically enough) in his closet, or somewhere else where no one could bother him. He'd run out of polite ways of saying 'not interested' about a week in. "I couldn't go anywhere for a month after that," he muttered, nearly shuddering at the memories.

Grinning a little at Roger's expression, he said seriously, "I don't know how anyone could object to eggplant. It's the best vegetable ever."

Marcus didn't bother hiding his sneer at that before commenting, "Wright is an idiot, and I would never sleep with her." He couldn't imagine having the desire to do so even if he were attracted to women. If there was a way for him to correct Roger's thinking about Marcus not wanting him... That thought was immediately cut off by Roger's comment about his friend, and he could feel every muscle in his body tense and then freeze, taken by a sudden and almost overwhelming fear of being found out. Letting his breath out in a slow sigh at the end of the statement, he spared half a moment to hope that maybe Roger wouldn't remember this conversation tomorrow, with the potions he was currently on.

He blushed fiercely again when the younger man said he made him happy, which would hopefully go unnoticed with the rearranging he was doing. Once Roger was settled, Marcus couldn't quite figure out figure out what to do with his hands, since the other man was now occupying the space where his right arm had been. Awkwardly leaning back against the sofa and resting his arm across the back of the cushions, he said, "I don't know what mean, but sure."

Roger bumped his shoulder against Marcus' gently. "Hey it's not all bad. At least you didn't have the mortification of being asked to be part of multiple threesomes with older, and Marc I mean older fans. Those memories will haunt me forever."

He looked at Marcus solemnly for a moment, then hugged him. "My Greek heritage salutes you, Cap."

He felt a rush of warmth in his belly and he smiled beatifically at Marcus. "I knew she was lying," he said, possibly far more happily than was warranted. He was so happy, he didn't even notice the way Marcus froze up at the mention of Ben. "I bet she was just doing it to get attention, or try and capitalise on your fame." He shook his head and frowned. "Stupid cow," he added viciously.

He looked up Marcus arms, spread out in a classic 'receiving a blow job on the couch from the milkman' position found abundantly in porn, and smiled. "You don't have to be so uncomfortable, you can even massage my head if you like. Melly does that for me all the time, sends me straight to sleep." He closed his eyes blissfully as Marcus' fingers hesitantly stroked his head. "Holy Rowena that' good," he sighed, opening his eyes to see a fight scene on the television. "A cinema is like a room, where they basically project giant versions of this onto a wall," he said helpfully. "I think I should totally take you out for Muggle London experience, what do you say?"

Offering Roger a small smile, he conceded, "I suppose you have a point there." He hoped his small snort of amusement was enough to cover the way he'd taken advantage of Roger's hug to get another whiff of the man's scent, feeling slightly guilty about doing so but unable to stop himself nevertheless.

"I don't care why she was lying, but she won't be doing so again," Marcus muttered, playing on having a very stern conversation the next day.

Relaxing a little at Roger's words, he reached out for the other man tentatively, his short hair ridiculously soft beneath his fingertips. He chuckled briefly at the exclamation, before being pleasantly surprised by the offer. It was an intriguing concept, and one he wasn't at all averse to. "I don't see why not," he said quietly, suddenly curious about what all exactly there would be to see.

Roger grinned devilishly. "I usually do," was all the said, enjoying the feel of Marcus against him.

He almost felt bad for the woman. Almost. But the prospect of Marcus not having had sex with her was far too appealing for him to get too worked up.

Contented and relaxed, Roger drifted off to sleep. He was vaguely aware of clinging to Marcus like a limpet as he carried Roger into his room. He wasn't aware of how long Marcus had to lie beside him until he finally loosened his death grip on the poor man. He also wasn't aware of how long it took Marcus to figure out how to turn the television off, though he would have laughed had he known.

When he woke up, there was a note, and he was alone. He stared at the note for a long time before deciding to go drown and have a long shower.
