Birthday Bash
Who: Seamus and open for multiple threads
What: Seamus's birthday
Where: The Roost
When: Saturday 27th / Sunday 28th June [foredated]
Rating: SFW for now?

Seamus had debated over the theme of his birthday for hours. He'd known that he wanted ice cream, but none of his own decor ideas had been inspiring. Dominic had suggested a camping theme, which Seamus had been enthusiastic about for all of ten seconds before realising how much Dean would hate it. Eventually, he'd settled on a sort of park feel. Where better to eat ice cream, after all?

One wall held the table, magically chilled, with all the flavours of ice cream, the cones and the cups, the sprinkles and sauces. Dominic had fashioned wooden screens that looked like muggle ice cream vans to attach to it, and all four walls were grass-green and sky-blue. The rest of the room was slightly too-crowded with park amusements. A see-saw, a set of swings, a family-size swing, even a sandbox in a nod to Dean's last birthday. The ground didn't quite feel like real grass but it was close enough, and the air smelled like summer.

Come midnight, the larger accessories would disappear, leaving the room empty for people to spread blankets and sleeping bags and cushions over. Seamus was expecting at least his closest friends to stay the night.

The smirk that spread across Dean's face was a thing which both lacked a huge amount of surprise and was full of pleasure. "Now, somehow that doesn't surprise me all that much. Some of us were nearly Hufflepuffs too, as you well know. But I think the fighting Death Eaters unarmed proved I was meant to be in Gryffindor," he admitted. That moment was something he was very proud of, even if he didn't talk about it often. Of course blood purists were usually screwed when you just decided to deck them, so it had worked in his favour in the end.

"I'd guess probably about three minutes knowing you two," he said. He had a feeling he and Seamus were going to be getting creative with the set in the flat. In fact Susan would more than likely join in knowing her. He grinned back at her when she laughed at his jokes. He tried to turn that into a stern frown but knew he'd managed comic more than anything. "No, you can't, no matter how tempting. I sort of didn't think that one through properly," he said. "He'll probably end up braining himself with one when he tries to throw them up and catch them though, if that helps at all?" he offered. Actually he wasn't totally sure it hadn't happened already, miraculous catch the previous morning aside.

Dean gave a low whistle. "Well know who is going to be popular," he said. "Although that means if we go flying the git is going to beat me in races. Ah well," he gave a philosophical shrug. The fact that losing a race meant he could fly in watching Seamus' arse wasn't the worst compensation in the world.
