Journal Post-Oliver Wood
Great win, Puddlemere. Too bad I was watching it from the bench.

I guess the reserve deserved at least one game in their career.

That was a bittersweet victory.

You'll be up there next Friday, and I will be cheering in the stands.

To say the least.

I hope so. At the least I have someone great I know to cheer me up in the meantime.

Anytime you want or anytime I don't want to wait any longer. Are you sure you don't want to come out for a couple of drinks tonight? Getting the full interrogation by a Ravenclaw and a Hufflepuff?

Not at all, you should spend time with your friends. I don't need to monopolize all your time, and I've been soarly neglectful of Aks, Kate, Angie, George...

I want to tell them about us.

You aren't monopolizing me. I think that may be the other way around. Mind if I stop by afterwards?

Then you should tell them. Roger guessed, as in he and Cho has been on me about glowing for a couple of weeks now and he guessed based on assumptions that were 50% incorrect. But he knows. I want to tell Cho, too.

And the world.

I would easily do, if I didn't stop myself. But of course I don't mind, I was hoping you'd say that.

Roger is a smart lad. I told him too, but I figured he already knew. I need to tell the rest but I'm afraid I'm such an idiot they may not believe me at first. Sorry for that.

Me too. I'll tell my friends and family first, and then we can do that. Mind, Witch Weekly likes to gossip about these things. I hope you are prepared to stay the course.

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to come up with reasons not to spend all my time with you, so there it is. I will come over when my feet feels like they are about to fall off. How does that sound?

He is, and if your friends won't believe you, then they're the idiots. There's no need to apologise for them. Should I make a written statement so you have something to back up your claims? Or would a public display of affection work better?

I'm telling Cho tonight and Marietta when I see her. I think my mum already knows, but we talk all the time.

Roger's been my friend since school, so I've seen what they've written about him. That's also taught me not to believe anything unless I hear it from him. Is that prepared enough, or is there anything else you think I should be aware of? I believe in you, Oliver, in us, and I trust you. I want to do this because I don't want to keep it hidden, not that I want to put up posters about it either. I just don't want to hide. We're better than that, aren't we?

Now now, you say things like that and it goes straight to my head.

I just mean...I've been an idiot with girls lately and yeah. They found my suddenly falling for someone a bit suspicious. But don't hold that against them, they just know me well.

Nah, that's good enough. I just don't want you surprised when you get some press. If you do. Maybe I'm not as famous as I think I am.

We're much better than that, Mel. You're better than all the rest.

It's a girlfriend's privilege to say things like that.

will it make you feel better if I told you that just the weekend before the birthday party, I walked out of a first date because the man in question proposed to me? Didn't even make it past the main course. I'm sorry they're finding it suspicious. Right now I have to admit that I hope they don't know you well enough and that they are wrong.

How about we take what comes as it comes instead of worrying ourselves into a lather before we even know what we're dealing with?

You make me better, Oliver.

Yes. A girlfriend can say things like that if she wants to.

Marginally better. Though that guy sounds like a piece of work. Anyone I know? But I'm not wrong about my feelings for you. I know those are real and what we have is real.

I like the sound of that.

I do try. So, I'll see you later, yes?

I like being a girlfriend. I like being your girlfriend.

Honestly, I doubt you know him. He's a friend of my cousin's, and 'piece of work' doesn't even begin to cover it. He believed it'd be a brilliant idea because then I could make the wedding cake to my taste and we'd save money that way; that's when I left, so I don't know what else he had to say. I know what I feel for you is real too.

You do great and you will see me later.

I like you being my girlfriend too. And so far I love being your boyfriend even more.

Sounds like a total piece of shite. Let's be sure he's not invited to our wedding that you'll plan.

KIDDING ONLY KIDDING!

I hope I won't give you a reason to feel differently about that.

He was a fool, but he's in he past and he's staying there. Oh, I'm not planning our wedding, Cho is, but no, he won't be invited.

Even I could pick that up through the pages.

Preferably.

As the Healer for the opposing team (as opposed to your friend and mother of your #1 fan) I have to say that your reserve wasn't even close to you in skills or technique or, well, anything really, and I would have rather that Pride lost to you because of your work up there, than because your Seeker got lucky at the right time.

You are a darling to say so, and quite good to be so loyal. I also wanted to say thank you for my ice cream.

And one more thing-Whatshername has a name. It's Melina. We're dating now.

I'm your friend, I have to say it. No, I'm kidding; I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. He let in 22 goals, compared to our 8. That is not good enough.

Melinda? As in Sweet Nothings Melinda? You won't believe how much I'm smiling right now, Oliver, and I get the feeling that you're smiling, too. I'm sorry I've been too busy to have seen it for real.

I*m looking forward to meeting her, and not like the baker with the best cakes in town.

Ah, yes, your mysterious baker who's somehow made you swear off of your harem. At least I'm presuming you're swearing off your harem as you've decided to follow these 'feelings' of yours. It would be rather uncouth of you to keep shagging other women, would it not? Though Merlin knows other men have tried it, yet it always comes out in the end, doesn't it.

I really, really hope this doesn't affect your game, Oliver. Or your heart, you bloody stupid git, because if I have to transform this woman into a sea urchin, it's all your bloody fault.

More than one person can have the same favourite, Oliver, else I challenge you to tell Lucy yourself that she isn't allowed to have Miss Bobbins as a favourite.

So you say, Oliver, though I hesitate to remember a time when someone broke your heart. Merlin, I hope you know what you're doing.
