Draco wasn't sure if anybody would turn up but he felt he needed to at least go out for a drink for his birthday. At the very least he might see Seamus and he could have a chat over a pint. It wasn't that he was particularly bothered that it was his birthday but it just felt like a bit of a waste if he didn't acknowledge it. His parents had actually sent some gifts over and they weren't awful so he was in a rather good mood when he made his way over to the pub.

He'd closed the shop at six as usual grabbed a quick sandwich and changed before going out again.

Even though Alicia had accepted Adrian’s invitation pretty much without hesitation, she had had her concerns about it. Mainly because it was Draco Malfoy’s birthday, but because even though Malfoy might think himself the center of the universe or something like that, today was her brothers’ birthday as well. It would have been such an easy excuse to use to get out of this, however, Adrian was getting to know her family better and it would only be a matter of time before he learned that Sam hadn’t celebrated his birthday since Nigel had been killed. So, Alicia had stood true to the promise she made to not just Adrian, but herself as well, and had dressed up to accompany him to his friend’s birthday. If she thought about it, she could look at this as ‘simply’ meeting her boyfriend’s friends for the first time.

She gave Adrian’s hand a gentle squeeze before she let go and walked ahead of him into the bar. As quietly as possibly she drew in a deep breath and smiled when Adrian called out to Malfoy. “Yes, we’ve met. Happy birthday, Draco,” she said, meaning it because everybody – even Draco Malfoy – deserved a happy birthday, and held out her hand to him.

Draco very much appreciated the unspoken support from Adrian, it stopped him being alone on his birthday anyway which meant a lot to Draco. Having a good business was one thing but having actual friends was something Draco knew he may struggle with especially outside of his own Slytherin year group. But Adrian had stuck by him even with everything that had happened.

Chuckling as Adrian spoke Draco smiled, "Thanks man" he said before nodding to Alicia, "Yes we have. Thank you and thank you for coming" he said honestly, shaking her hand. "What can I get you both to drink?" he asked, signalling the barman.
