RP: He's good in the kitchen
Who: Lavender Brown, Cormac McLaggen
What: Dinner and...?
Where: Cormac's place
When: Friday evening
Rating: SFW

The last time someone male and snoggable had invited Lavender for a home-cooked dinner was a depressingly long time ago. She had very nearly written 'tonight' when Cormac had inquired about her availability, but stopped herself in the nick of time; that was just desperate and she certainly didn't consider herself desperate. It was just that for the last while her life had revolved around work and running the duelling club. She needed to do something outside of that sphere. Maybe she needed to do Cormac, for lack of a better way of putting it. But first, dinner.

Lavender arrived at Cormac's a few minutes after seven, wearing a flirty blue and white dress that she loved but also kind of worried would expose too much of her boobs if she didn't keep it charmed in place. "Something smells good," she said after kissing Cormac's cheek in greeting.

"Handsome enough," Lavender replied smartly, a teasing glimmer in her brown eyes.

She nodded. "I like the sound of that," she told him as she followed him. "The weather's been good today." Hopefully there wouldn't be any sudden showers to spoil the evening. "Are you sure you don't need a hand with anything?"

At her answer, Cormac sneaked a fun kiss on her cheek in, in retaliation. Giving her a grin he said, "My hands can do plenty," and then escorted her upstairs, pouring a glass of wine for her before another quick kiss - this time on the lips - before retreating back downstairs.

He plated the duck and the rice, plus the Asian vegetables light stir fry he'd made to accompany, and left the rest of the food under a warming spell. Spelling both plates warm he charmed silverware and accompaniments to follow him upstairs and then headed up.

"Enjoying the wine?" He asked, coming out of the rooftop entrance.

I bet they can. Lavender kept that thought to herself, not wanting to encourage him quite so much so early in the evening. His kisses made her smile, though, and she lightly sipped her wine as he left her to look out on the view of Monument Alley from above. On the street below she could see all sorts of people milling about: a group in smart robes leaving Finnigan's after post-work drinks, someone closing up a shop, a couple heading into Quickpulse hand in hand.

She was still busy watching when Cormac reappeared. Lavender turned to him with a smile. "Yes, and the people watching too. I didn't get to appreciate the view so much last time."

"I think you were appreciating quite a view, if I do say so myself," he laughed while the food and plating all arranged itself on the candle lit table.

He poured himself a glass of wine and then dished out a light salad for them both. "I love sitting up here, I'll admit, I don't know that I do much people watching, though," he cocked his head to the side at the thought.

"Asian salad with crispy noodles, m'lady?" He bowed in an exaggeration of a server and pulled out her chair for her.

"Mm. Yes, I did enjoy that view." She bit her lip, acting coy. "Maybe I'll have to enjoy that again later, see if it's still... breathtaking."

Lavender laughed, taking her seat. "Thanks," she murmured, putting her glass down on the table. "Don't mind if I do."

The food was surprisingly good; she hadn't really known what to expect. Mac had put together quite the spread. "This is really nice. Do you do a lot of cooking like this?"
