[Warded to Melinda] -- Melinda, Tuesday is Lav's birthday, do you think you can put together a basket of romantic favorites? You know what she usually orders, right? Also, I'm picking up her gift tomorrow... The first time we ever went out, she confessed to me that she likes baking. Might you have a suggestion for a fancy baking type of thing that I would have no clue about?

You know I can, but you really have to give me a little more to go on. I mean, I know she loves chocolate and raspberries, but what did you have in mind? A big cake or petit fours? Mousse cake, cupcake, layer cake, small cake, big cake? I'll find small treats to add in as well, but the main part of the basket has to be baked goods, right?

Also, I can come up with about, oh, say... a thousand suggestions for "fancy baking type of things", so let's narrow it down, shall we? Are you thinking of something along the lines of recipes (and if so for which kinds of baked goods?), molds for baking, decoration equipment, mixing bowls, amazing aprons?

I was thinking appliances... And it has to be good looking, too. Between you and me, I'm hoping it won't be in her kitchen long, but in mine, which means it has to be nice looking and modern and the absolute best. Something versatile, right?

As for the sweets, petit fours or cupcakes, I'd say. As much as we love your baking, I don't know that we could sit down and finish a cake in one celebration.

All right, in that case, I'd say a good, strong stand mixer with at least one extra mixing bowl and loads of attachments (wire whisk, dough hook, flat beater, edge beater, and a pouring shield as the absolute minimum). You can get some really strong ones that looks stylish, too, in Muggle shops and then have them Charmed to run without the magic interfering. The good thing about those are that you can get more attachments for them, so they can be used for things other than baking.

I know she loves the Black Forest Cupcakes, so I can make a nice arrangement of those and top up with a box of Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Secrets. Add in a bottle of champagne, maybe, and some fresh fruits?
