I'm fascinated by how my parents can turn a sombre occasion into a chance to try to nudge me toward "a very nice witch we think you'd get on with." ~~I'm fascinated and appalled that said "very nice witch" tried to kiss me when the statue had been lit up. I don't want my fi~~ It has to be some kind skill. I can't say I'm disappointed to not have inherited it.

Oh. ~~I was not expecting that.~~ At least you get to have a say in things, even if that say is, "I'm confused and am going away now because this is confusing." ~~How is it you get to be confused wh~~ Or whatever. I don't know. It all seems too bloody confusing and too much of a hassle no matter what side you're on. ~~Is there something wrong with me?~~

	Can you talk to your mum or another relative about setting you up? You could also make your own guidelines, such as "I will go out with these sorts of people until I find one I like. Then I will ask about marriage." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	If she wants you to get married, if you tell her, she may put her stuff aside to focus on helping you, ~~or the family name if she's like~~ If not, there's still the "make your own plan" option that involves writing out what you want, finding it, proposing to it, and marrying it. I wouldn't know what you want, either. I think that's something you'd have to think about. Make lists if you're a lists person. Otherwise, just think about what you might want in someone and what you like in people. For the other stuff, maybe some singles groups or some activities at the pub and around the Wizarding world. And proposing probably comes awhile after you've been dating. I don't know how long. Probably depends on the couple and how much parental involvement there is. But I wouldn't do it right away either way. Not until you know you can spend time together and enjoy it so the marriage isn't entirely miserable. And you talk about it so you know if it's something to even bring up because some people don't want to marry or have kids or anything.
