RP: Dinner!
Who: Susan, Dean, Eddie, Ernie, Hannah, Justin, Megan, Rolf, Rose and Seamus.

Where: Susan's flat

When: Friday 5th September, 7pm

Rating: SFW

To say that Susan had had an interesting day was perhaps one of the greatest understatements since 'Hey, if we point sticks at one another our magic is scarier!' Her day had been equal parts annoying, awesome, and confusing, and the prospect of having her friends around for dinner had been one of the things that had kept her powering through her sleep deprived state. The brandy and wine at Rose's had helped too. Still, she had just enough time after seeing Rose to rush to the supermarket and buy panic buy enough products to feed a Quidditch match.

Two hours later: her kitchen smelled amazing, and she'd managed enough just enough downtime to slip into a cute little dress. She was just vaguely wondering where all the people were when the doorbell rang, and the first of her guests arrived.

Seamus was late. Just a little. Ten minutes - okay, twenty minutes. Twenty five by the time he managed to apparate to a quiet spot and walk the short distance to Susan's house. It wasn't his fault, really. He'd taken the afternoon shift so as to get the evening off and then he'd had to stay behind and premake a bunch of chips and garlic bread and chicken wings for in case anyone got hungry while they were without a chef.

Despite his tardiness, he wasn't worried. Susan loved him far too much to actually hex him. It was actually hard to worry about anything as he knocked at Susan's door and admired her garden. He felt satisfied and content in a way he hadn't in ages. He'd almost forgotten what it felt like not to be sexually frustrated - not to look at every cute guy who walked past and want and wish for things that his trust issues made basically impossible.

He rearranged his gifts - wine and a bunch of flowers - so they'd be the first thing Susan saw when she opened the door. He wasn't worried, but he could still play things to his advantage. He'd like not to get hexed - certainly not before Sunday.

Susan opened the door and smiled at Seamus for a moment, before his huge grin, un-slumped shoulders, and slight swagger made her close her mouth and narrow her eyes in a assessment. "You've had sex," she said at last, a smirk blooming on her face. "You sly dog, you got your end away." She moved forward and gave him a long hug and a kiss on each cheek.

She looked down at the wine and flowers and sighed with relief, absently linking her arms with his. "I'm so glad you didn't get me daisies, apparently I'm a huge slut for men who give me daisies and/or samosas." She led him down the hall and into the living room, depositing him next to Dean. "Can I get you a drink, charms?"

Seamus groaned, but it was good natured. He hadn't really expected to be able to keep the information from his friends. Susan and Dean both knew him too well. Which was great, when he needed a hug but couldn't bring himself to ask but was somewhat less convenient when they could tell the moment his sexual frustration abated. "Yes, I have," he admitted. The fact that it had been unexpected with no leading up dates meant it could only be one person - a fact Susan well knew.

He handed her the wine and the mixed bouquet. "I figured everyone would bring food to share, so these are just for you." Though he raised his eyes at Susan's comment. "Susan Bones, you are not a slut for anyone." Just because Susan didn't have issues that inhibited her sex life didn't mean she got to throw words like that at herself. "Though who..." His question was cut off as Susan practically pushed him onto the sofa next to Dean.

"Hey," he said, bumping his shoulder against his friend's. "I'll have a beer if you've got one."

Dean hadn't been sitting with his drink long, idly half listening to the other guys chatting when Seamus arrived, staring around Susan's living room. He was always both pleased and mildly embarrassed to see his work hanging up, although clearly she hadn't been lying about how persuasive the gallery team had been at the Afremov exhibit. There were three of them scattered about the room. Thankfully none were the ones that reminded him of his nightmares which he'd had to skip past at the gallery.

Just as he was debating going up and taking a closer look at the wet street to examine the profusion of colours in the top corner when Susan brought Seamus through. He'd heard someone come to the door, of course, but he hadn't known who it was. He caught the word slut and opened his mouth to ask his question again, only to have drink talk cut him off.

"Hey. Did she tell you who, or what that was all about?" he asked, finally looking at Seamus properly. "And what happened to you? You're all relaxed. Did you get a new chef at last?"

Seamus watched Susan go before turning to Dean. "Just something about daisies and samosas..." He shrugged, not terribly worried. Susan having sex wasn't a cause for alarm, she'd probably tell them about it later in private.

Seamus flushed a little at Dean's question, but shook his head. "No new chef yet. I just spent like an hour in the kitchen making sure there was enough food for Bryn and Ben to heat up for the night." No, he was relaxed for another reason, but he'd always sort of figured Dean would prefer not to hear details about that. "How was your day?"

"Oh, I didn't get the daisies and samosas part. I think she might have been drinking already though, her mouth doesn't usually run away with itself when she's sober," he said, glancing towards the kitchen.

"Oh?" Dean frowned when Seamus said he hadn't found a new chef yet, he was definitely more relaxed about something. What else would make Seamus more re- "Oh!" he said, realising with a shock exactly what had happened. Well, that was good. Seamus deserved a little fun now and then, didn't he. He reflexively took a sip of his drink as Seamus changed the topic.

"Oh, you know. Busy. With the whole show decision this morning I spent the day sorting paintings and making lists. I've been wondering about, you know, the nightmare stuff. I've not shown it before, but I've got them on the maybe pile. I might be ready," he spoke quietly, technically not allowed to start announcing the show just yet, and the topic of his nightmares being something he didn't talk widely about.

"Really?" Now that was unusual - and somewhat concerning. A thought flashed through Seamus's mind and he frowned, turning in his seat to face Dean. "You don't think it was Merrill, do you?" Surely Susan was too smart to small for that prick a second time? Seamus fervently hoped so, he'd had to have to go through that again.

He watched the realisation across Dean's face and gave a slight shrug. Like Susan, Dean knew him to well to hide the reality of the situation and likely guess that it was Justin who was behind Seamus's current contentment. Anyone else and he'd have had to listen to Seamus anxiously discussing possible dates.

Listening to Dean talk about his show was more interesting and Seamus patted his forearm gently. "Yeah?" he asked, his voice warm with pride. "That's good, that you're thinking about it." Even if Dean didn't end up showing them, Seamus knew it was a big step just to be thinking about it. "If you're not sure, maybe you could ask Braith."

Susan walked back over, carrying a coke for Dean and a Guinness for Seamus. Putting the drinks down, turned and saw Dean's slightly shellshocked expression. "Oh you told him about sleeping with, well I guess Justin, did you?" Waving her wand, she absently summoned coasters for their drinks, and after a frown, a decidedly non alcoholic drink for herself. "To preclude any further questions, I slept with my friend Eddie, in a rather spectacular and unexpected fashion this morning, by the by."

Placing her head on Seamus' shoulder, she watched the fiery light enter Dean's eyes as he discussed the logistics of his upcoming show. "I agree with Seamus, it's a really good sign that you're even considering showing the pieces." She was about to go on, when the doorbell rank. "Oh bollocks, I'll be back in a sec."

He didn't feel the need to comment on Seamus sleeping with Justin, that fact had been totally obvious to him when he'd worked out Seamus had had sex. There was nobody else it could have been that wouldn't have caused weeks of stress about dates.

Instead he focussed on their thoughts on showing his paintings. "Well, it's not like I have to decide right this minute. If I want them in I'd like them in the promotional material, so I've got about six weeks. Should be plenty of time to decide. Talk it through with my therapist, that sort of thing," he waved his hand vaguely.
