Pretend this was before Eddie's :P)
While Megan was late, she had a good reason. She and Darby had had a row. In fact, it was a pretty epic fight, considering they often avoided talking instead of fighting. The reason why was obvious-Megan was going out again and leaving him behind to his own devices. He had needs too! Or so he had shouted, and Megan had cried and ruined her make up and had to fix it, and then it took her a while before she was ready to go to Susan. Megan tried not to think about the look on Darby's face. When had they turned this corner? For a long while, she thought it was just her that was unhappy, but it was clear Darby didn't like it any more than she did. What were they really even holding on to, anyway?
But now was not the time to dwell on it. She had promised Susan she would stop by the party and she didn't want to disappoint her friend. Bottle of wine in tow, though her eyes were still a little red rimmed, Megan knocked on her friend's flat ready to forget about the row and all it represented. "Hallo, Susan! It's Meg, I hope I'm not TOO late!"
