Dear Susan,

I know I have no right for you to speak to me. I was a fucking idiot to leave like I did. I'm terrible at processing feelings and emotions and the ones I had for you scared me. I know I fucked up. Carmichael,

Interesting that you kept them. I think perhaps you're too quick to assert a reasons for your actions: cowardice is almost always simply a lack of ability to suspend functioning of the imagination.

I imagine your sister isn't thrilled with you if nothing else. I've seen her a time or two whilst out and about. I'm living with a one of my old year mates from Hufflepuff, Lucy.

I kept them because it was all I had to remember you. I was a coward. I might be brave when it comes to fighting hexes, but I'm an idiot and a coward when it comes to emotions. But I'm trying to be better. I know I have no reason to believe you'll ever change your mind about me, but someday I hope to not be such a fuck up and to show you that.

Not really, no. Though I did reply to her while I was away. She disagrees with you about my need to apologize to you, however.

Oh? Well, that's quite nice. I'm sure it's nice to have a roommate.

I...I know you'll say no, but...maybe would you consider coffee with me sometime soon? And I can explain more?
