Journal - Rolf Scamander
People, please don’t test your engorging and enlarging spells on animate things if you think you have a problem.

 photo giantrabbit_zps22d37b57.jpg

This is the reason the Muggles believe there’s a breed of rabbit this big. Which there technically is now, because of us. If you make a mistake, don’t leave it there, bring it in.

And save me the hassle of getting called out at dawn and chasing this thing for a couple of hours. Now to see if the spell can be reversed without damaging its sanity. Because that’s one of the biggest things with spells like this and small creatures like rabbits… it can’t always be undone safely. So much for sleep...

I've been called out when Muggleborn children wish really hard for a pony, and the kitchen table attempts to Transfigure into a pony. Animals are the trickest to un/transfigure and should only be done by trained professionals, like you and I.

That is a grotesquly large rabbit. If all else fails, rabbit soup for dinner?

Yes, I've seen that more than once, or similar. Because sometimes they stay animate after that...

No, not soup. It's still showing signs of not wanting to return to normal, so... know anyone who wants a giant cuddly rabbit?

If they stay animate, you've done it improperly - that was mean, I'm sorry There could be a case made for telling Muggleborn children they are magical sooner. It might help them with Wizarding culture and acclimation. 11 is far too old for proper acclimation. They spend their whole lives at a detriment.

I think I'll pass. I'd be far too tempted to have soup and a shawl, for autumn and winter. I have a feeling that's not your intent.

I think there's a good case for it. It can get them in a lot of trouble, if they don't know. It could also hurt others. I agree 11 is rather old, though it's amazing what children can still adapt to, culturally speaking.

Yeah, definitely not what I'm looking for, but thanks.

The number of calls I take that involve young Muggleborn children is staggerling high. Can they ever properly adapt at 11? I think not.

Now I want a nice fur shawl.

I'm sure.

Faux fur is the way to go. Senselss slaughter of animals is unneeded when we have magic.

Wizards aren't responsible for every giant rabbit or animal out there.

If you don't find a home for it, I know someone who's been looking for a good pet for her child.

Well, so long as it isn't AS big as her kid, it might work. Else wise that might be a little too interesting... thank you!

I've not met the child to know for sure, but I think her child is bigger than the Sheltie in the picture. You're welcome.

Go whack off to something else; surely my brother and I conversing can't possibly be that titilating to you, can it?

My goodness. That is one big bunny. How cute though, even if it's not good for the rabbit.

If you need any help chasing rabbits after this, you can always call me.

It's cute, and it likes to snuggle, but it is as big as the collie I've been trying to rehome. And it seems resistant to shrinking again. You're welcome to take a look though.

Thanks! I didn't even think of it. It was crazy early and I keep forgetting I'm not on my own in the field right now.

Aw I had bunnies once, just not that big. They didn't like to snuggle or be petted though. It always made me sad when I was younger. That collie is pretty adorable too. If you don't find a home, let me know. I think I might just do that.

That's understandable. It happens to me all the time.

Well, this one at least likes to snuggle with Catcher. Which is kind of weird, but... Do come by this weekend or something, you can see what I have here. I managed to funnel a litter of kittens off to an acquaintance who will find good homes, but I have a few new ones you might like to meet.

Bunny snuggles are cute. I don't think that's weird. I will definitely come by. Oh good, I always look forward to meeting new ones. I've almost managed to funnel my kittens off to good homes too.

Merlin's teeth, that is a huge bunny. What the hell possessed the person to do this?

It could have been an accident, I suppose? That happens sometimes. Or it could have been purposeful, in which case, it was cruel.

Either way, yes... one big bunny.

That bunny looks like it could eat the bunny I had when I was younger!

Luckily it has no carnivorous urges! Though it does eat a lot.

I wasn't sure that was a giant rabbit and not a tiny dog
