Journal - A quoteathon
[Warded to Susan]

(Thought I'd save your poor owl.)

The Truth Shall Make Ye Fret

[End Ward]

[Warded private as strongly as Dean knows how]

Fuck. Fuck. Shit. Really? I... really?

Oh God, Merlin, Circe, Godric and Satan's fluffy dice.

[End Ward]

the violence of the Big Bang can give a universe serious psychological problems when it gets older

Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.

God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

DO NOT PUT ALL YOUR TRUST IN ROOT VEGETABLES. WHAT THINGS SEEM MAY NOT BE WHAT THINGS ARE.

Scientists have calculated that the chances of something so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one. But magicians have calculated that million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.

Fate always wins. Most of the gods throw dice but Fate plays chess, and you don't find out until too late that he's been using two queens all along.

Two queens... What are you trying to say here Thomas

Some things are fairly obvious when it's a seven-foot skeleton with a scythe telling you them

Granny Weatherwax didn't like maps. She felt instinctively that they sold the landscape short.

Sometimes the truth is arrived at by adding all the little lies together and deducting them from the totality of what is known, Dean Thomas.

Bishops move diagonally. That's why they often turn up where the kings don't expect them to be.

One of the universal rules of happiness is: always be wary of any helpful item that weighs less than its operating manual.

Head, meet brick wall. How did I think I'd keep this quiet?

Sweetie, that manual is heavier than a goblin trying to leave a jewelers, but if you work at it, it could be lighter than air.

The manual is too bloody confusing, and written in a language I'm not sure I read. And I'm pretty sure the useful fucking item doesn't follow.

If you need me any time soon I'll be in the studio.
