For any who might be interested, we have an opening in Broom Regulation Control as of 2pm today. The posting should be up tomorrow for a new Magical Bristle Evaluator, whose job it would be to examine examples from new lines of brooms or ones that have received a number of complaints, and evaluate the charms upon them for any deviation from Ministry regulations.

Candidates must have received a minimum of Exceeds Expecations on all OWLs and NEWTs, particularly Charms and Transfiguration, be capable of working independently, be willing to work in a high pressure environment, know how to work according to deadlines, and most importantly, not keep brooms for their own personal use in order to win money in pick-up games (yes, I mean you Harold, and the rest of your things, which you forgot to pack up, are in a box by the door - please don't let it hit you on your way out).

Thank you, and I look forward to all incoming applications.

Bit unprofessional there now aren't we Weasley?

I am always highly professional - and Harold has been professionally kicked out on his backside after his misconduct. Ministry regulations are very serious business and not to be taken lightly.

You'll have to excuse if my definition of a professional does not include calling out the individual whom you are seeking to replace regardless of what they did. It is rather immature and quite tacky.

My employees all know of my strict standards, and I do not abide by this sort of misconduct. I have no shame in calling it out publicly if only to prevent further misconduct by those who might seek to misuse their position for personal gain.

If that is being a git, then I am as you accuse, and no doubt every one of my siblings would be in agreement.

There is a difference in reiterating your standards so as to enforce them and being disrespectful to an individual and their family. Should the man have a wife and children they shouldn't be subject to your judgement.

Mate, you could make a position in explosion creation seem dull as paint drying. I think it's a special talent possessed by you alone.

We all have our talents, Oliver. Does this mean you don't intend on applying?

Not this century, no. Unless they tell me I can't keep the rings, I'm in quidditch for the long haul.

But I'll be sure to mention it to my near-dead friends. Might be right up their alley.

I suppose my department's loss is Puddlemere's gain, then, not that I would deprive them so - I do want them to win.

Excellent. Thank you, as always, Oliver.

Which is what I love about you, mate. That and your glorious mane of hair, and that cute daughter I can chase on a broom. She's going to be a brilliant Chaser, mark my words.

Forever, Perce.

Ah, but my fanaticism is far outmatched by your own, though I do agree with you about the hair. I also believe you're right about Lucy - I think she takes after Charlie on a broom, which is rather thankful as I was afraid she would take after me, and then where would Gryffindor's future chances be?

Be careful, I may think you want another favour.

I'm right all the time, just keep that in mind for later.

Thank Godric for that, really. Gryffindor needs another Weasley to light things up. Your brother was an admirable Keeper, I hear, but still.

Since when do I ask for one of those?

Oh? Like the time you tried to drown yourself in the shower - you were right then as well?

I can only hope that I will be allowed on Hogwarts grounds when it happens. However do parents manage to be away from their children when they play quidditch in school? It's simply incomprehensible to me.

Do you really want to ask that question?

Naturally. I probably shouldn't be here, but YOU had to help save me.

I have no idea. I plan on sneaking into every game once I have children. I can transfigure into a bush or something similar. I should start practicing now.

I don't know, do I?

Well, I couldn't let Gryffindor lost a chance at the cup, could I?

I'm rather adept at human transfiguration - I could turn you into an owl so that you could get a bird's eye view. Or perhaps by then you'll have taken over for Madame Hooch?

Are you intent on answering my questions with questions?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]oliverwoodwould

I suppose not. Still.

No way, I'll still be playing in the league then, just hitting my peak. I plan on impregnating someone by day's end, you see.

Do you plan on answering my questions as answers with more questions?

What? No, I mean, I want a child as soon as possible. Doesn't that seem like a good idea?

I don't know, shall we?

[info]abidingpercy

... And who exactly would be mothering this child? Have I never told you of my own trials and tribulations with Lucy's mother? Please, Oliver, learn from my example - you have plenty of time to wait for the right circumstances. If anything, think of your career - how could you be a proper parent and full-time keeper?

Since when do you use words like shall?

Oh I don't know, is that bit important? I just remember the bit about a cute kid on a broom. Hmmmmm. Well, I'll think on it.

Since when do you question my grammatical prowess?

[info]abidingpercy

Well, most of it - I'm fortunate I share custody so I have half of my nights to myself. But I still have to consider Lucy with most of my decisions, such as when an opportunity to travel outside of the country comes up.

How did this all start again?

I can imagine so. Well, I'm not going to impregnate anyone any time soon, Percy, don't worry your pretty ginger head about it.

Why don't you tell me?

Hrm, is that what your family thinks? Ron wasn't particularly funny, I don't know Ginny that well, and your twin brothers were more bullies than humourous.

I think it sends the right message. You're serious about the work you do, and if someone is going to piss off with your brooms, they're not worthy to work for you. Only delivered in a much more hilarious manner.

Could I have all of that etched in writing for posterity? Perhaps to be referenced at a future Weasley dinner at the most embarrassing moment possible for my siblings?

Thank you. In all honesty, I do not make such examples lightly. And there you go again - I thought I assured you I have no sense of humour.

No, I think it's useful. Shame the people who misbehave in such an egregious manner and then the next person won't misbehave.

I'm certain my mother would appreciate the artistry, as she has done quite a bit of cross-stitching herself.

It's a shame it's necessary. I would much rather be generous to my employees, but with our recent past, I cannot tolerate any misuse of a position under my purview. As the expression goes, fool me once...

You turn a clever turn of phrase, madame.

I hear Dean Thomas is an accomplished artist, perhaps he could do it justice.

It depends upon the life choices - some of us take several foolings before we finally learn our lesson, but once we do, it's never unlearnt.
