Journal - Ernie Macmillan
Thanks to Hannah, I may not be able to walk for a week, so if anyone notices one less healer in Janus Thickey, it's her fault. But if I die, it will be happily fed.

Why does a four-day week feel as long as a five-day, sometimes longer? I've never quite figured out the time mechanics of that.

Same amount of work divided by less time equals double the pressure, per day off I believe

Are you okay? Did something

Oh, I'm fine - indulged a little too much while having dinner at a friend's place. I really need to learn when to stop, but it was all so good, except I have to do it all again the next night at another friend's place.

Why do I have so many friends who provide me with endless food?

But other than my overexaggerating, I'm tired but good. And you?

I'm glad to hear that. All in moderation, I suppose

Maybe it's because they want to care for the caregiver?

I'm also tired. And unemployed.

Caring for the caregiver, maybe, I don't know - except it goes back long before I became a healer. Maybe it's because I've never quite gotten the hang of saying 'no' to good food?

Unemployed... Did you leave the Menagerie? I guess it has some pretty sad memories, especially now. How are you? Do you have another job yet? Are you all right?

Maybe people just feel that they need to give back to you - you don't strike me as someone who wasn't looking out for others until you became a healer

I did. I should probably start looking again. I'll be okay, thank you

Thanks for that, it's nice of you to say.

I know you will, as long as you take care of yourself in the now. And unless you're financially unable, it's never a bad idea to take some time off and figure things out. If you need any help, I'd be glad to do so. That's what friends are for, right?
