Who: Blaise and Genie
What: Dinner
Where: Starting at the Leaky Cauldron
When: Slighly backdated to Wednesday evening.
Rating: TBD

Blaise didn't know where Genie had planned for them to go for the evening. He wasn't sure what the dress code was so he went for a simple pair of black pants with a white pull over and a jacket. His attire wasn't too formal but nice enough to pass should they end up somewhere that required a bit more pizazz. The strangest thing about his outfit was that he'd actually fretted over it, something Blaise was not prone to do.

He arrived shortly before their agreed upon time and headed on in to the pub. There he ordered a shot and quickly downed it. This was the first time in a while he could recall having spent time with anyone outside his usual circle. Even odder the fact that this would be their second dinner and he'd yet to make a move on her, not that the thought hadn't crossed his mind. Then again the curse of knowledge had made him a bit more cautious.

Blaise turned at the sound of Genie's voice and immediately caught the way her dress fit rather nicely. It made him glad he had a jacket as his wardrobe would allow him to be a gentleman should the temperature become a bit brisk as the evening wore on.

"Slop and work would be just as entertaining," he adjusted his jacket as he stood before offering her an arm. "That is as long as we're staying alive this evening." He didn't know what she had planned for them but he hoped it didn't include that bungee thing she'd mentioned.

"Naaaah, no work tonight. Just fun!" she told him. Generally she was up beat and optimistic, and the smile she gave him conveyed that she was sure tonight was going to be very nice. So far her friendship with Blaise was rather odd -- most men she ended up in bed with in short time, but hadn't with him so far, though she didn't think he was gay, either. Either way, she enjoyed their friendship thus far.

She wound her arm through his and congenially bumped her hip against his. "And I promise, no bungee jumping tonight, though I'm pretty sure you'd like it if you gave it a try. Maybe we could start with ziplining or something first, though. Work our way up to bungees and sky diving." She grinned mischievously at him as she lead them toward the door.

"I'm definitely up for all fun," Blaise stated. After getting everything off his chest with Pandora a little while back he believed he may be able to pull out some of his old charm without worrying about things he has no control over. Still, he didn't know if he could back off from the respect factor that had begun had take root. What if his child was a daughter. How would he feel if some man wanted nothing more than to defile her for his own pleasure?

Shaking his head to get the image out of his mind he turned his focus to Genie. "Surely there are other thrill factors out there? Like things that keep my feet a bit more secure." He knew Muggles liked to do things to purposefully scare themselves. It wasn't something he necessarily wanted to do but why not try something more simple if the opportunity arose. "What about those autothings. Aren't those available on tracks or something at high speeds?" That definitely seemed the safest bet. It was funny to think of it though, he had no problem zipping around on a broom but the thought of entrusting himself to Muggle contraptions wasn't much of a comfort.

"There are," she said with a grin. "Rock climbing, motorcycle riding. And yes, racing. That would definitely be a fun one." She tilted her head at him, eyes full of mischief. "Speaking of which, and I'm leaving it completely up to you, no pressure, we can always take a taxi. How do you feel about riding a motorcycle to the restaurant? My mate Alex said we could use it if you wanted to give it a go. I know how to drive it, and I promise I won't go too fast."

It really was up to him; she knew he was a pureblood who likely hadn't done much of any of those things. She didn't understand fear in quite the same way as half the world, at least, but that didn't mean she was going to scare the shite out of him on purpose. Or rahter, without permission.

"Do you drive this taxi as well?" he asked not quite certain but he thought he recalled it being something that was for hire much like the Knight Bus. "If not then I opt for the motor thing." He barely knew Genie but he felt secure in putting his trust in her rather than some Muggle stranger.

"Nope. Those are things you pay other people to drive," she said. It boggled her mind a bit, as always, that the wizarding world was so insular; it was easy to forget that as a child, she hadn't been fully conversant either. She led him down the street and over to where the motorcycle was parked. There were two helmets, since Alexander refused to be responsible for someone else knocking themselves out.

"Alex said we could borrow it for the evening. I'm a good driver," she told him reassuringly.

Blaise looked at the head gear and cringed slightly. "It looks like an over grown keepers hat," he observed as he took one and followed whatever lead Genie gave on how to wear it.

"So where do I sit?" he inquired noting there was only one proper seat on the machine.

"It's for the best, promise. It is actually spelled, so it doesn't feel nearly as bad as you'll think." She flashed him a warm smile and put on a helmet and slipping on the front of the bike, scooting forward and leaving room for him. "Hop on, and we'll head out." When he got on behind her, she told him to put his arms around her, and she got the bike started and revved it. It purred with quiet power. "Ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," Blaise said a bit of a waiver in his voice as the bike came to life. Swinging his leg over the bike, he settled in and wrapped his arms around Genie's waist.

"Where are we off to?" he asked though he wasn't certain she could hear him over the engine.

Genie grinned and started the bike, revving it lightly. "This most excellent pub I discovered a while back," she said, before starting them rolling, heading toward the street. She kept it relatively sedate, mindful that Blaise had never really used such things before, though she'd have to keep up with traffic or things could get hinky.

Blaise was surprised that he actually enjoyed the ride. It felt a lot like the thrill of a broom and the times he thought a motor vehicle may have come to close reminded him of near scrapes with bludgers.

"That was rather interesting," he admitted once they'd reached their destination. "Don't know if I'd want to try it again in the city but it could be interesting out in the open." He knew that Muggles had roads that were less traveled than others.

Genie smiled hugely at him. "Oh good. I'm glad you liked it," she said. There had been a worry, but he'd seemed to relax as they got going, and she hadn't gone too fast in an effort to keep it restrained enough. "It's absolutely awesome if you're on a stretch of road on your own and no risk of getting caught. I'll have to take you some time."

She grinned impishly as she patted it before heading toward the door. "Though racing can be awfully fun."

Blaise knew enough to take the helmet off but he wasn't sure what do with it. Glancing around, he didn't see anyone so he turned so that his back was to the road and discretely pulled his wand out and shrunk it down to pocket size. Surely he'd been careful enough so as not to attract any attention since it was a very small, specifically directed spell.

"I'll have to take your word on that one," he chuckled as he made a few decent strides to close the gap that had formed between them as he'd handled the helmet. "I prefer not to place myself in situations where too many people I don't know or trust are in charge of what could easily be a precarious situation."

"Gotta take a risk occasionally," she laughed, pausing to wait for him. She was a Gryffindor who liked to take risks, though how much of that was her original nature and how much had grown since she'd been bitten was sometimes unclear, though she'd always been very brash. She pushed open the door just ahead of him and waved at the bartender, exchanging greetings in a fashion that showed she wasn't a stranger here. "They've got some good pub food here," she told him. "And they make good drinks."
