	I won't know what in particular I'm looking for until I find it. I was hoping there were some tales with iconic components. Something like Cinderella's carriage or Sleeping Beauty's spindle. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Castles, powerful wizards and witches...

I believe there was one I enjoyed as a boy about a hippogryff and a mermaid who fell in love but could not live together and thus were doomed to love from a distance. Yet the hippogryff could not stay away and would spend all of their time flying above the mermaid's lake. Unfortunately, its devotion was so obsessed that it forgot to sleep and eat on land, and eventually fell into the lake. Its dying breath was spent on a sole kiss with its love, in whose arms it died, happy for one final moment before submitting to Death's call.
