Susan winced as she walked up the stairs to Eddie's loft. She'd just stopped by to see Alicia who'd spent a good five minutes fussing over her - five minutes less than Justin would have taken, fifteen less than Hannah or Ernie - until finally healing her and giving her a potion. She'd been cajoled into working the nightshift to act as a Law Enforcement representative for the arrival of a group of Goblin emissaries from a small Goblin kingdom under a mountain in Northern Switzerland. Everything had been going fine until the complicated and exhaustive swap of genealogies between the Emissary-General and the Ministry goblin had revealed the fact that their distant ancestors had once been at war. Instead of laughing it off and shaking their heads at the idiocies of the past, the two had gone for one another like, well, two goblins. That was when Susan's shoulder had been broken, and her mood had plummeted. Since Seamus, Dean, and her cete were busy, and she hadn't seen Eddie in ages, so thus she found herself knocking on his door with two bottles of wine and the determination to cuddle and get take-away.

"Oi, open the door, Smiles," she called, knocking briskly.

Though Eddie was himself on forced recuperation from a curse from a Water Demon, he was in far better shape than his red headed companion. Or, well, in a manner of speaking. Because honestly, you would have to be dead below the waist to not notice the shape Susan had going, though he wasn't sure how much he SHOULD be noticing such things. After all, they were just friends, weren't they? Banter was fun, it was hot, but he wasn't sure that he wanted to risk taking things to the logical conclusion with Susan. He didn't want to risk her finding him out as the feckless dick he inevitably ended up being.

Then again, maybe he did.

In any case, Eddie answered the door with a face of exaggerated shows of sympathy, a plate of samosas in one hand and a handful of daisies in the other. "RED, HOW DARE YOU INJURE YOURSELF, IT IS NOT ALLOWED!" he cried, throwing his arms around her, and making an 'oof' in pain as he managed to tweak his own tender left side. "Come in, make yourself at home," he said, handing her the flowers. "Don't say I never gave you anything pretty," he added, though he realized it was probably odd to give her them when she was going to be at his flat for a bit. He looked around and grabbed a mason jar on a shelf. "Uh, you can put them in that, if you want. ANYWAY! I'm glad you're here even if I'm not pleased at all about why. Laila is out, how am I meant to survive alone?"

Susan grinned brightly as Eddie opened the with a ridiculously over the top show of sympathetic concern, and grew wider at the sight of the samosas and the daisies. Despite his expression, and his in-journal declaration that he was getting fat, she noted rather appreciatively that he was still fit, muscled, and ridiculously handsome.

“Smiles, I’m sorry but it definitely wasn’t something that I planned! Bloody goblins,” she cried back, allowing herself to be engulfed in a huge hug, wincing at the same time as he as they exacerbated both their injuries. Extricating herself and absentmindedly taking a samosa, she followed him into the flat, accepting the flowers with quirked brows. “I would never say such a thing, love, you give me your time, which is pretty enough in itself. I do like these though,” she added, sniffing at them in a manner reminiscent of ballerina walking past a group of attractive men, which is to say: delicately. She watched him look around with a frown for a moment, before accepting the mason jar with a laugh. “You’re not pleased with the why? The why is because I miss you like a buttock lost in a duel, does that displease you?” She rolled her eyes at him and shook his head. “You’re relishing some time without Laila mothering you, admit it!”

Still smiling, she placed the daisies in their jar by the door, and then pulled him over to the couch. “So,” she said with an arch of her eyebrow. “Tell me everything you’ve been up to. Leave nothing out!” Nodding imperiously, she grabbed another samosa and winced as the action pinged her newly healed shoulder.

Eddie had to admit, it was much harder to banter quite as easily when Susan was actually THERE to distract him. It wasn't that he didn't notice that she was attractive when he was bantering, but as he wasn't actually LOOKING at her at the time, the puns and jokes fell from his lips easily. He tried the best he could all the same, shaking his head at her ridiculous answer as to why he wasn't pleased to see her. "Not pleased because you're injured, don't be daft. You Aurors are meant to be smart, aren't you? Isn't that the line they feed us in school?" He smiled as she smelled the daisies he gave her, glad he'd thought to run to the flower store in the time it took he to come over. She was fucking beautiful, was the thing. Somehow he had forgotten that in the short time he'd been on mission in Algeria. Or maybe he always knew it, and it had just not been at the front of his mind when he was off on a mission.

He allowed himself to be pulled to the couch, flopping down next to her and unceremoniously laying in her lap, his feet draped over the arm. "Not much to tell really," he said, stealing one of his own samosas. It was hot and a little spicy, just like he liked them. Just like her. "Went looking for a collection of ancient texts that are meant to lead to a huge treasure. Got cursed by a water demon. Had a little bit of a coma but came to ship shape, and my baby sister has been hovering like a mother hen. Healing fine and nearly ready to return. I grow bored and restless sitting about. I got a great scar though!" he said, lifting his shirt to reveal a long scald-like mark down his rib cage. And, of course, his abs and stomach. He put his arms down, though he did nothing to cover himself. He was shameless. "I think it makes me sexier, what do you think?"

Susan smiled at him winningly. “Oh well I’m glad about that. It’d put a bit of a dampener on our friendship if you were happy that I got injured,” she replied laconically. “And we Aurors are well smart, that’s why we get injured so fucking much.” She felt his eyes on her as she smelled the flowers, and looked up at him, just as he did the thing with his hair, and felt her stomach drop a little bit. He really was ridiculously handsome sometimes, although she couldn’t remember noticing before.

Obligingly, she moved so that he could lie with his head in her lap. “That sounds lovely,” she replied, massaging his scalp. “Nice and warm, anyway.” She paused, theatrically lifting her hands away from his scalp giving him the sort of look one gives an idiot child who is supremely proud of the fact that he’s smeared lipstick all over the dog. “Except for the coma. THERE IS NOTHING LITTLE ABOUT A COMA EDWARD ALI CARMICHAEL!” she took a steadying breath, vaguely wondering why the thought of the idiot in her lap in a coma made her chest constrict quite so much. It wasn’t like she didn’t know that Cursebreakers had a dangerous job. Closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose, she grabbed another samosa and ate it savagely. “I can well imagine how Laila has been to be honest,” she said at last, smiling despite herself. “I bet she loved hearing about it, especially if you told her as nonchalantly as you just told me.” She raised an eyebrow as he lifted his shirt, and gingerly ran her fingers over the healing curse scar. “It looks a little like a phoenix,” she said thoughtfully. “And yes, scars are sexy you smug prick.”

Eddie took that moment to laugh and pull his long hair from it's current ponytail, letting the locks fall where they may before tossing them out of his eyes. Did he subconsciously think it was his most attractive look? No. Consciously so. And he ran a hand through his locks for good measure, making sure she give her a crooked smile as he did. He was turning up the charm to 11. "I wouldn't want to put a damper on anything between us. And I'm not one to judge given my professor tends to have Healers dedicated for the very purpose." He liked that she seemed a little flushed and not perfectly at ease. It must mean he was doing his flirting right. Not that he was trying to. Nope. Not Eddie.

Eddie closed his eyes and made little satisfied 'mm' sounds as Susan rubbed his scalp, even when she yelled at him. "I couldn't help the coma, Red, it was only one day, no need for such a fuss. A BABY coma. Practically no coma at all. Quit your worrying, honestly it wasn't as bad as it could be. And now I have that sexy scar. Laila always thinks I'm an idiot, but she's judgmental and now as apt to find my exploits dashing." She touched his scar, and even if it tingled, Eddie didn't flinch. He rather liked her touch. He looked up at her and made sure his smile was as sexy as it came. "I'm only smug because I'm right." He paused and put a hand up to her face. "You're sexier though, Red," he said, tracing her neck with his thumb.

Susan chuckled slightly, the bastard knew what he was doing alright. She’d seem him use the patented Eddie Carmichael Hair Flick on girls and in one particularly memorable occasion when they needed to get into a hospital room to see Rose – guys before. She just never quite thought he’d be using it on her. Smiling, she took of her jacket, revealing the sinfully tight and delightfully low cut shirt she was wearing. Two could play at that game. “Yes, female healers who just love to give you sponge baths. With their tongues. On your balls,” she retorted, thanking Merlin that Rose had deigned to share that little piece of juicy gossip with her.

The noise he made when she rubbed his scalp would have done any actor in a gay porno proud, and it made her giggle slightly. “There is no such thing as a baby coma, Smiles. It’s your body shutting down,” her voice however, was somewhat mollified. “What would you do if I went into a baby coma, huh?” She scoffed, rolling her eyes. “And anyway, who says I find your exploits dashing?” She felt a tightness in her chest as he looked at her with the full force of his beautiful brown eyes. “I know,” she said simply, leaning forward to engulf his face in a curtain of fiery red hair. “Are you trying to get me into your bed Carmichael,” she asked after a long, deliberatively pause. “Do I want to be one of the many,” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her lips just inches from his face.

Many would be embarrassed by such a revelation, but Eddie Carmichael was more the type to laugh. After all, it WAS pretty funny. When you thought about it. "I see Rosie likes to gossip, doesn't she? Well, if anything I should have felt violated, since I woke up to that particular bath, and when I finally fully realized and registered my surprise, she was even more surprised. She'd gotten the room wrong and thought I was her boyfriend who was one door down. So really, I can't help it that I look like someone's boyfriend, now can I? She never looked at me the same again, and she went and changed jobs too. Thanks for the reminder though!" he added, shaking his head and having a bit of a laugh.

That Susan failed to see his point about the shortness of his coma to actually being important bothered him not at all. He shook his head, though moved it against her fingers all the more since he was enjoying his little massage. "It was only for a little while. And don't say that, you're not allowed to shut down at all, so don't even pretend." He wasn't fooled by her rolling her eyes. He knew very well that Susan loved hearing of his adventures, and he was probably right in that a girl like her found them sexy. He just smiled all the wider. "You don't need to say it."

And then he was engulfed in flames as she leaned forward and covered his face with hers. Now she was so close he could almost taste her lips, and in answer to her question he closed the space, kissing her juicy, inviting lips without any shame at all. He pulled her so that she was no longer at an awkward angle, instead laying next to him, face to face. He tangled his legs with hers, and pulled back only when he needed fresh air. His eyes searched hers, and he didn't say a word, just tucked her hair behind her ear and waited for a reaction.

Susan couldn't help herself, she broke into a fit of laughter. "Only you would receive the beginnings of a blowjob by accident Eddie Carmichael," she said, choosing to ignore his comment about Rose. "Poor you though, that would have been uncomfortable. And really, wouldn't you check whose pants you were pulling down before you went to work?"

She smiled beatifically as his voice became suddenly ferocious at the thought of her going into a 'baby coma' herself. "Exactly my point," she said primly, running her hand through his lustrous hair. He was right though as much as she hated to admit it, she did find his adventures strangely sexy.

And then he kissed her. His lips the spicy taste of the samosas lingered on her lips, making her mouth tingle even more than they already were. For a moment, she considered how ridiculous the situation was, and then he moved her down into a position far more conducive to kissing and moved his hand down to her hip, and all rationality was driven from her brain. For a long moment, they lay there entwined lost in one another. Then, he pulled back and took a jagged breath, staring at her intently. His brown eyes bore right down into her core, and she smiled. "Lift your arms up," she said, her voice slightly husky as she tugged off his shirt, before quickly removing her own. Smiling, she leaned forward to engulf him in a fresh wave of kisses, her hands roaming across his chest and stomach.

"Accidental Blow Job Carmichael, that's what they call me," he said laughing, though they absolutely did not, he would find it amusing if they did so was fine with saying it. "I was the victim, wasn't I? There were many layers, all things considered. I think she must have had a couch of problems with eyesight since my skin's quite a bit darker than her boyfriend's. Unless he's got darker bollocks than the rest of him."

He near purred as Susan ran her fingers through his hair, despite her prim response. He knew she knew his point, he didn't need her to say it in the least. She confirmed it with her continued flirts, and most especially to how eager she responded to his kiss. Eddie had to admit, it drove him a bit mad, and he was more quickly excited than was typical from a snog. Such was the appeal of Susan Bones.

He wasn't totally sure what her response would be. He hoped a positive one, but she was a very capable witch with very capable defensive skills. She could hex him to pieces, or turn his eyebrows to bats or any number of things that went through his mind as he waited for her to respond. But instead of that, she ordered him to help him take off his shirt, and he eagerly complied, his mouth on hers as soon as their torsos were clear of their shirts, his mouth smiling into hers as she felt him up. She was quicker about that part than even he was. He pulled her back for a moment, laughing and saying, "Shhh, stop for a minute so I can look at you. I've dreamed of seeing you topless for years." True to his word, he drank her gorgeous curves in for a moment, and then went back to snogging, his hands to those breasts that he'd spent more than a few nights thinking about.

They felt MUCH BETTER than his dreams ever suggested.

Susan snorted and lifted an eyebrow disbelievingly "Uh huh, and how long did it take you to convince them to do that, Smiles?" Shaking her head slightly she suddenly and irrationally wished that she had glasses, so she could peer over the rim of them and look at him severely. Of course that would have just turned Eddie on, the prick. "Have you considered that maybe she just conveniently made the thing up so that she could have a go with you were you willing?

She felt his lips quirk into a grin as he continued to kiss her hungrily, his hands moving up her back. Then, he pulled back again and looked at her with complete earnestly and she felt a shiver run down her spine. She hadn't felt like this since age nineteen, and she never thought she would again. To distract herself, she moved her hands down and under the hem of his pants, feeling his appreciation for her literally grow as she did so. "it is a it unfair on you," she said with a smirk. "I've seen you shirtless plenty of times." after several more crackling moments of kissing, she pulled back and grinned. "You can take the bra off if you like?"

Eddie raised his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay, no one called me that. But I absolutely didn't ask for it, and we both felt awkward and bad about it. It's not like my bollocks don't mind a good tongue bath, but I generally want them aimed at me on purpose," he said, giving her a wink. Was that a hint? Certainly.

But kissing her by itself was nicer than he'd expected. He loved snogging in general, but Susan had lovely soft lips (one he imagined doing any number of other things, please Merlin let that happen tonight), and the felt good against his own. He groaned when she ran her hands under the hem of his pants, and to say he was excited was now both obvious and an understatement. It near HURT he was aroused so much. "That's what I should get to stare more," he countered to her obvious statement, and eagerly kissed her all the more, now with the added benefits of the feel of her soft, generous breasts. The prospect of seeing and feeling them naked was almost too good to be true, and he didn't even wait to answer, just immediately unhooked the back of her bra.
