Journal - Susan Bones
Can anyone recommend a good pet store? I see them around but I'd love to hear from someone who bought a pet from them?

Also, does anyone happen to speak Gobblegook and not work for the Ministry?

[Warded to Eddie Carmichael]
Okay new plan, I am utterly shattered and so is my shoulder. Well, broken. The goblin enclave from Switzerland sent a delegation who began a pitched battle with some of our goblins. Can I come cuddle with you tonight?

Ugh so the Goblin enclave in (or rather under) Switzerland sent a delegation and we had a few Goblins there to help, and apparently they went to war in 1337 so insults were exchanged, swords were produced, and I jumped in front of the head of the delegation but he smacked me out of the way and then had his head chopped off.

Apparently we're very good hosts to provide martial entertainment at a gathering.

Oh sounds very pleasant. Good thing I had just sat down to a bit of lunch. Have gotten far too rotund as it is.

You poor darling. At least tell me your hidden candlestick came in handy. I would at least feel like I served some higher purpose.

When are you coming over? Laila is out, I am feeling lonely.

Oh please, you couldn't be rotund if you tried. Too much energy and too much of the shagging flakey women and never owling them again.

I did keep my candlestick handy, but really I'm carrying the flame around for you, so it wouldn't behoove me to just lob it at any old goblin would it?

I am on my way now, just stopped off to see Alicia to get patched up.

I could and I am. And I don't shag flakey women, I'm the flakey one. I can't help it that I'm so beautiful that I couldn't possibly keep up with all my suitors.

Oh ho, make sure that fire doesn't burn you, Red. Wouldn't want that, now would we?

I shall be waiting with samosas and flowers.

Rolf's shop in Monument Alley is the best. I don't have a pet, but Rolf knows his stuff when it comes to the critters.

Also, I can hold my own in Gobbledegook. Dare I ask why?

I will go and give Rolf's a look then? It's the Bestiary innit?

Warded to Rose
Fuck a duck why didn't I think of you? Basically we had an emissary from Gobbledeguchereich under Switzerland send a delegation, and the Ministry goblins apparently offended some of the Gobbledeguchers and a pitched battle ensued which ended in a broken shoulder for me and the emissary head literally losing his head.

Yeah, that would be the one.

Because you just got broken in a Goblin battle?

Sounds like a Ministerial nightmare. What do you need?

Thank you so much darling.

Warded to Rose
Ha exactly. I dived in front of the emissary and he picked me up and threw me against a wall basically.

Well there's talks on Monday, and it'd be great if you could come and translate - seeming as you're human and apparently not from an offensive tribe or anything ridiculous like that.

I will say that apparently the second-in-command, now the new emissary head says that providing the chance for bloodshed and revenge makes us excellent hosts?

Ungrateful son of a bitch. Then again, he is Goblin.

Sure, of course, I'll be there, however you may want to check with them first, because while I'm human I'm also working for Gringott's and there's been incidents when they've been found too liberal in their interaction with humans. If that's not an issue, just name the time and I'm all yours, love.

I think you've just witnessed the logic that is Goblins and Gobbledegook.

I don't like to speak ill of other species, but yeah. Just... yeah.

Oooh good thought Rosie-girl, I just owled the Goblin liaison about whether you'd be fine, so hopefully he'll owl me back soon.

By the way, you up for some self-defence since you're in town?

That's not speaking ill of them, that's just the way they are sometimes. I just meant that he was just being Goblin, not ungrateful.

As soon as you're Healed up, I'm ready. I'm not Carmichael just holing up on his sofa because of a little Curse.

I know Luna had kittens a few days ago, but otherwise the Bestiary has an assortment of pets I think. If you get something cuddly can I come for snuggles?

I can do a tiny bit of Gobbledegook, but if you're needing actual translations I'm probably not good enough. If you've no other offers though let me know.

Hmmm I'm wondering if I don't perhaps want a Kneazle, or some sort of dog. Or... What sort of pet should I get Deano?

I think Rose is helping? You remember Rose right? Gorgeous Cursebreaker, younger than us? I didn't know you knew Gobbledegook though! Holding out on me, handsome!

Not sure what you should get Kneazles or half-Kneazles are good as long as they're less grumpy than Crookshanks was, as are dogs. Like I said cuddly, I need cuddles and I'd be terrible at looking after anything myself.

Warded to Susan
No, I don't remember Rose really. But you know me. Brain like a sieve half the time.
And yes, I know some, but only bits and pieces. Learned from the goblins when I was on the run. I don't really use it. Or particularly like hearing it sometimes.

Oh Godric, I have to introduce you. You'll love her! If you take Cat, and combine her with me, and add a touch of Oliver Wood - that's Rosie. I love her dearly, and miss her like a buttock lost in a duel.

Oh sorry darling, I shall delicately drop the matter and forget it was ever raised.

And by the way you're making Rosie sound terrifying, just so you know. I'm sure she's lovely, but that much bounce and me may need special circumstances.

Ah, compliments from a pretty lady! My thanks. We have all sorts, and if none suit you, I can find more.

Pretty fluent. I spent nine months a couple years ago in The Triangle studying the magical wildlife there, and thus spent a lot of time among the Merpeople there. while the accent is a little different, the dialects don't change much, and I've converse a few times with the local populations.

Zach! I didn't know you had a journal? Mum says she see's you down in Mysteries!

I've looked into the animal shelters actually! A woman rather severely (and may I add, a tad rudely) told me that they will not allow animals in their care to go into the deeply irresponsible homes of Aurors and Cursebreakers.

Zacharias I don't know if I should be flattered or frightened Well, since I work there, I don't know what Ah, well, I see her, too. I think

Clearly that isn't a very good shelter, though there are some shelters that have stricter rules than others when it comes to adopting certain pets. I've heard of one disallowing an adoption based on someone wanted to potentially declaw a cat. I don't generally support declawing cats, but that person had a baby to take into consideration and whether or not the child would get scratched up.

I don't know if there really is a best one. The animals at all of them deserve a good forever home. Poor Crookshanks had been waiting for the right person for years. You never know which store may have your match.
