RP: The last LBB of Summer
Who: OPEN
What: The LBB meets
Where: Finnignan's - The Den
When: Sunday afternoon
Rating: SFW

The LBB always felt like a waste of Romi's time an yet she came every week because apparently it was important for people to see her as a legitimate business woman to keep them from sniffing out her other practices. The other witches in the trade that she'd met had told her this time and time again. Ofcourse, Romi was actually a legit businesswoman, so she didn't see all the fuss!

Either way, in a dark gray pencil skirt an pale silk white t-shirt, she'd sat today with her ankles crossed demurely and her flats dangling from her feet and listened in on the local discussion just like every Sunday.

Gemma grinned at Romilda's approach. She hadn't failed to notice the beautiful woman who had been so quiet during the meeting. "It's a little on the sweet side, but it'll do. As for the weather, I'm enjoying it while I still can. And you, Miss Vane? You've been so quiet all morning."

She finished off the last bite of her croissant then lifted her thumb to her lips to leisurely wipe away a stray crumb.

"Sweet can be nice every so often," Romi shrugged, "I prefer my snacks to be on the spicier side, though," she gave Gemma a feline smile. This time she sighed, though, "I find these to quite the waste of time, but we all have our reasons for being here, don't we?" Romi was sure Gemma knew of her 'side business' in escorting, but it still wasn't something she every spoke about unless to a trusted customer or one of her employees.

Romi watched Gemma wipe her lip and bit her bottom one. "And why do you come to these gatherings? Surely the best wizarding salon in all of the UK doesn't need the extra contacts."

"Who doesn't like things spiced up a little bit?" Gemma asked, amused. Oh, she knew all about Romilda's side business - she knew women from her own past who were still in that business, and kept her apprised of the goings on along Monument Alley. Her own business, she didn't know if Vane was a fan of crup fighting, and if she'd ever needed anything to be acquired under the table, then she hadn't been directed Gemma's way yet. With Knockturn gone, it was more important than ever that the right people be directed by other right people, all so the DMLE didn't get wind of what was really happening.

"Well, I don't know if I'm the best salon - just one of them," she said with obviously false humility. "But contacts come in all shapes and sizes. Plus, it's good to know who's around, how they're doing, and if any of them might become competition."

She made a shamelessly long look up Romilda's body, from shoes to skirt to blouse. "Not to mention the delicious treats."

"My thought exactly," she agreed.

And then she pouted just a bit, "But you are the best - would I be a customer if you weren't? You know in my business I need to look my best. Though I will say I prefer contacts to come in certain shapes and sizes," she gave a small titter of laughter at herself.

Romilda's eyes followed Gemma's perusal. "Have to look the part of the respectable business woman don't I? The city's magical population wasn't exactly excited at the thought of Quickpulse moving into the shrine for the heroes of the war, now were they?" Romi had quite the fight with that, and had to keep certain items in a room to the side and could only keep certain items in the window displays.

"That's a shining endorsement if there ever was one," Gemma replied with a chuckle. "And something tells me that with your business, you never have to worry about the wrong shape or size."

"The population wouldn't know a good thing if it him them in the head and stole their galleons. When old, white-bearded witches and wizards are in charge, it takes time to bring them into the twenty-first century. And something tells me a few of those heroes would have loved some of your wares were they still alive."

With a quick glance around to see if anyone was close enough to hear, Gemma leaned in a little more until her lips were close enough that, when she spoke, her breath could be felt upon Romilda's skin (many years of seducing money out of older men had made her an excellent judge of distance for such things). "What would you say to a potential... partnership between our two businesses? While the rest of the alley might make noise about you being there, some of us find you quite desirable."
