RP: And where are we going?
Who: Cho & Finbar
What: Finbar told her to meet him, so she did. What's next? She has no idea.
Where: Starting at Sweet Nothings, moving on from there.
When: Monday evening.
Rating: SFW for now

It was five to 6 and she had of course already been standing outside for five minutes. Cho was the sort to always be early. Curse or a blessing, she hadn't figured out yet. Being dressed appropriately on the other hand? Always a blessing. Unless of course you had no idea where you were going or what you'd be doing once you arrived there. It being apparation, she figured they'd be staying in the UK (further than that and a portkey was more likely transport, right?), but that was about all she could deduce. So she'd dressed warm, comfortably, and a little bit more casually than she usually would. With the fur jacket and boots though, she figured if they were going to dinner, she could still fit in at any nice restaurant he might have in mind.

She stopped herself from looking at her watch again and instead watched the winter shoppers heading to and fro. There was a family with two small children, heading into Cormac's store next door, the little boy complaining about having to help pick out a broom for an older sister. Cho smiled to herself, there was something so heart warming about the whole scene, she let herself get lost in watching it.

If Finbar was running late, it was only a couple of minutes at the most. He had been about to leave so he could have been in Monument Alley ahead of time, when his agent had shown up with a couple of documents that needed signing. It had been quick – poor timing, sure, but quick, nonetheless – and soon after Fin was walking down the surprisingly lively street, stopping just a few yards shy of her when he spotted Cho right where he had suggested they should meet. At first he wondered what could have captured her attention like that, though a quick glance further down the street answered that question for him, and he could spend a moment losing himself in a scene he found far more interesting: Cho unaware she was being watched.

She looked gorgeous, as always, and he mentally cursed his situation, things that had happened that had led to him being this cautious about her. It wasn’t her that he didn’t trust, though, it was the world in general, Ruby in particular, and he wanted Cho aware of that, though still as unaffected by it as was possible. His moment was up though, he knew that, so casually he strolled up to her, catching her attention only when he could gently let his hand come to rest on her shoulder as he looked in the same direction as her. “We can go broom shopping too, if you’d like,” he said with a small smirk.

When she felt the hand on her shoulder, she turned, startled, and then laughed quietly at him. "You're making fun of me, there was a very funny little boy heading in with his parents, you would have liked his... Strong opinions." Well, she figured Finbar would be the sort to appreciate a small child with a rightly formed personality, or at least find the humour in it.

"I'm good on brooms, though I haven't been in the air in way too long, I'll admit. What did you have in mind otherwise?" She wouldn't admit it (maybe to Melinda and Marietta she would, later) but the anticipation was killing her.

Finbar shook his head; he would never make fun of her. Tease her? Sure, but never make fun of her. Still, he had to admit that the scenario that she described – the one that he had caught a glimpse of – did make him smile. “A boy with strong opinions about brooms?” he asked, one eyebrow slightly quirked and his amusement showing in the smile tugging at the seam of his lips. “Sounds like a boy right after my own heart.”

Reaching around Cho, Fin put his arm around her back, his hand resting comfortably on her waist as he started guiding her down Monument Alley, back the way he had come from. “I thought I’d treat you to dinner, either take you somewhere not Finnigan’s or impress you with my amazing skills that both starts and ends with pancakes at my house, but other than that, I didn’t have anything other than spending the evening in mind,” he admitted. “Although, we could go flying if you’d like.” Glancing down at her he sent her a smile. “There’s a small Muggle place in Ballycastle, surprisingly close to the Pitch that I’d like to take you to sometime. Because as much as I hate to admit it, I think a flight along the coast is just too cold this time of year.”

Cho's smile turned less shy when he agreed with her about the young boy. Maybe she was getting to know him, after all.

With his hand on her waist she felt her heart rate speed up, as it always seemed to do when he moved in closer to her. "Somewhere other than Finnigan's?" She asked, hoping her anxiety and excitement didn't come out in her voice. "Where did you have in mind?"

His idea about flying together - later - only made her heart speed up more. He had an idea about them spending together, later? Her smile brightened further and she nodded, "I'd like that, when it's warmer, of course," though she hoped he didn't think she was jumping to conclusions. Though, wasn't that exactly what she was doing? As they walked she talked herself down and looked up at him, just letting herself enjoy the moment, much like she had when she'd watched the family outside Cormac's shop. There was something in the air tonight, something magical she felt, that had nothing to do with the wand in her bag.

“Yeah, somewhere other than Finnigan’s,” Finbar chuckled as they turned the corner and continued down Diagon Alley. “I was thinking somewhere neither of us have been before, somewhere where we won’t have to worry about running into people we know or be recognised at all, for that matter.” Somewhere they could just relax without worrying about the rumour mill that was always lurking. He liked Cho, really liked her, and that one kiss back in December..? It had been careless and stupid, but it had also stayed with him even as he promised himself that while he would like there to be more – and more – he would have to be more careful about where they happened. At least until he knew what was between him and Cho.

“So I asked around,” he continued, “and there’s either a Japanese restaurant in Mayfair or a wine bar with great food down in West End, so… lady’s choice tonight.”

Cho giggled. "Somewhere neither of us have been? I'm intrigued..."

Thinking on her choices, she couldn't help of think what her father would say at the thought of her even considering going to a Japanese restaurant. He was a very proud Chinese man, first of all, but mostly he hated western Asian food, immensely.

"How about the wine bar? With the exception of rare take away, I avoid Asian restaurants. My Dad always had a thing against 'western Asian' - but I get my fill of real Chinese food every year for New Year in Hong Kong." She hoped that didn't sound too crazy. Her father had very... strong opinions, about everything, to put it lightly.

"Besides, I'm pretty sure 'Wine' is my favorite word." She twitched her fingers, subconsciously longing for some sort of contact.

Finbar had never thought about cuisines like that. Sure, there were some he avoided, though that had to do with him not being particularly fond of specific spices preparation techniques. But avoiding a cuisine based on his father’s preferences..? Each to their own, he figured, but could somewhat see where Cho was coming from. He most certainly could respect it, and instead gave her a nod. “Wine it is, then,” he said, taking her hand to pull her along with him off the street and into more private corner for Apparition. “And good food,” he said, looking down at her, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear and making good use of what could very easily just be a brief moment of public privacy. “Better company, and no interruptions from people we know.” That really was all he had put into the going ‘someplace neither of them had been before’. “Side-along?”

"And good food, of course." Cho agreed with a nod. When he pulled her aside she took a quick intake of breath, but his reminding her that they'd specifically be going somewhere no one might know them took some of the shine off the moment for her. Of course he didn't want to be seen, he was a married man after all.

Wait, though, he was separated - what was she then? Not a mistress, of course, and especially after only two dates or so, but... She was suddenly confused and simply nodded, stepping closer to him to let him do the magic, as she didn't know where they were headed. She supposed any confusion she might have - and might, maybe have the courage to voice - could wait.
