Thank you, Rich. You really are too generous -- I shouldn't accept this, but it is so lovely.

Technically, you aren't my apprentice any more. Dashed if I'd turn you out on the street, especially this time of year.

By the way, I may have a little job for you Saturday evening if you're up for it.

I know, but it really means so much. I've been out on the street more than once, or in the crappiest of places. It means the world that I"ll have a place to go to now without risking it being gone in a heartbeat.

I'd be happy to go out on a job! I should be free on Saturday.

Think of it as another building block of your new life.

Be ready to go at 7pm Saturday evening. You get to play muscle. We'll meet a bonded courier in Edinburgh and transport a package to a wizard in London. Tail end of a delivery of rare and expensive potion ingredients. Not something I usually do, but I'll run a few of these until you get the feel for things. What with shuffling papers at both ends, should have you home by midnight.

Will do. Nice dark dress clothes, yes? Sounds like fun.

That will do nicely. I'd also suggest sunglasses so you don't lose your night vision under the lights at the docks. And your short blade would not be amiss. Our couriers aren't usually troubled, but I prefer to be prepared just in case.

By the way, this is a paid gig, even though it counts as training, and a late dinner will be on me if you'd like.

Sunglasses, check. I'm always armed so I'll make sure that is on me.

Pay is always good, as is training. Though I won't turn down the meal, though don't feel obliged to pay.

This is beautiful! Thank you so much, Richard.

I hope that Christmas has been good for you and that you found the time to spend with family and/or loved ones.

Richard, you're far too generous and thoughtful. It's quite possibly one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and I'm almost afraid to take it out of the wrapping.

How is your Christmas going?

Glad you like it. When I saw it there with Minerva's owl engraved on the stone it just brought you to mind.

Oh, you know, Christmas day with the parents in Marseilles. Holidays haven't been quite the same since my brother was without my brother around, but Mother is gradually getting better about things. Hope your holiday season has been a happy one.

You're so very sweet.

Christmas sounds very warm - a little more cozy than in Cornwall with my mother and siblings! I rather enjoy the boisterousness of it all and I'm a sucker for Christmas. I think I had more fun shopping for everyone than opening my presents, your own excluded of course.

Lunch when you come back, my treat?
