Who: Magical Law Enforcement and Local Business Bureau folk

What: Briefing the business owners of Monument Alley about the suspected crup fighting, and asking some questions

Where: The Den, Finnigan's Pub

Susan walked quickly down the stairs into the den, noting with a certain amount of approval that a number of people were present. More people present would make this smoother and more effective, and stop the entire situation from reeking of an inquisition.

"Good afternoon everyone," she said with a smile. "As some of you may know, my name is Susan Bones, and these are my colleagues Lavender Brown and Neville Longbottom. We're here today on an unofficial basis to brief you on a matter of some concern to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and ask for your assistance and cooperation in it's speedy and satisfactory conclusion."

She resisted the urge to look across at Lavender, and instead focused on looking at the business owners before her. "Recently Rolf Scamander and Luna Lovegood have both mentioned an increase in injured Crups being dumped at their clinics, and a little diligent research has revealed a strong belief on our part that some sort of illegal Crup fighting operation is being run, possibly by persons who believe that Monument Alley should never have been changed from Knockturn Alley. Furthermore, our belief stems from the fact that this isn't the only such operation within the UK to be discovered by Magical Law," she said, watching the crowd's reaction for a moment before smiling brightly. "To that end, I'll hand over to Lavender who can brief you more fully on the other cases that have been successfully shut down around the country."

Gemma had originally been pleased to see a pair of pretty faces in the room that weren't usually there, but knowing they were related to the DMLE in some way - and happened to be talking about crup fighting - hit her like a cold shower. She was long an expert in keeping a straight face no matter what was going on inside her brain, as anything less had resulted in many harsh lessons back when she'd first moved along Knockturn.

This was bad news, though. They even had the day close enough to maybe track it. Thankfully, they were here and speaking to them rather than taking action, which meant Gemma had time to do something to prevent herself from being found out. Her first thought was to try and see if there was anywhere she could deflect suspicion.

She lifted her hand before speaking, a gesture to show 'respect' for the speakers and an orderly meeting. "I haven't heard anything, but the only place I know of around here that's open one of those nights, other than Finnigan's, is Wingbeat. I don't really see people walking in or out of anywhere else those night, sorry."

Neville use that time that Susan and Lavender were talking to focus and observe the crowd. He was looking for any kind of reaction, a tell or something. Maybe someone's nervous enough in there to look like they have something to hide. He scribbled a note to check up on both Seamus and Charlie Weasley to do a follow up. She was right, these two businesses were open late and his job was to investigate, not to play favorites. "Thank you for mentioning this."

He looked around and cocked his head to the side. "Please keep in mind though that it doesn't have to be a business opened late. I've seen knitting groups meet in yarn shops after closing time." Okay, the relation between these 2 were kind of the same, except that one was clearly more legal than the other.
