Journal: Missing Person
Hi all! Obviously I would have preferred to make a much more interesting first posting here, but in light of an event this afternoon I thought it might do to put out a general request for everyone to keep their eyes peeled.

This afternoon at approximately 4pm a woman by the name of Amelia Storridge escaped from a Muggle prison where she'd been incarcerated for a number of crimes including petty theft, assault and battery, and vagrancy. Apparently Ms Storridge had been involved in some sort of dispute within the gaol when she abruptly vanished, leaving behind an ear and two middle fingers. Muggle police - which is to say, law enforcement - are baffled and alarmed by this turn of events, and informants within the Metropolitan Police quickly forwarded the reports to us.

Storridge is apparently a Muggle-born witch who was tried and found guilty of "stealing magic" by the Muggle-Born Registration Committee in 1998. Allegedly, she gave her captors the slip at some point, and lacking a wand, family, or any Muggle education, she escaped onto the London streets where she lived in abject poverty until eventually finding herself incarcerated. Obviously, we're interested in rehabilitating Ms Storridge, and re-introducing her to Magical society.

She is described as: a female, caucasian, forty-nine years old, 5'9", weighing 140 pounds with blue eyes and black hair. She may or may not be wearing a prison uniform, but she will be missing an ear and two fingers.

If anyone on here happens to see or hear anything about a woman matching the above description, please contact either me or the Ministry.

Can you put some feelers out at the pub about asking people around for me? We have the definite feeling that she'd run from anyone even vaguely official.

I will keep a look out. If she has splinched herself she is likely in need of medical attention. Have you all checked St. Mungo's or any of the known street clinics. She may also seek out potions if St. Mungo's would be too official for her to find her way to.

When you find her she is going to need reassurance that she is not in danger. I will be happy to assist in working with her. It is a shame that even five years after his demise there are those who are still on the run.

Thanks Hermione!

I mentioned the journals to a friend in Patrol who asked if I could pass along the message, there'll be a bulletin in the Prophet and on the WWN tomorrow, but I thought since there's such a varied range of people who use Finnigan's that I'd give it a go.

Patrol and Admin currently have a number of people actively searching for her, and St Mungo's as well as a few of the Inner-City Muggle clinics and shelters that we have contacts in have been notified. They also have the Aurors keeping an eye out on our rounds, so hopefully we'll be able to locate her quickly.

When we do find her she will be assessed and offered counselling. I'll mention your willingness to work with her to the relevant people. I also completely agree, unfortunately I think Riddle's shadow will continue to be felt for years to come.

Do you think she may be listening to the networks? If she believes she's going to be in trouble in the wizarding world she may not trust anyone or anything. Having been in the Muggle system she'll understand the need for a good solicitor even if she doesn't necessarily need one here. I can ask Mr. Clegg if we can offer to assist her pro bono. If she knows she'll have legal representation she may be more willing to come forward.

Will do. I'm not working at the pub again until Monday but I'll be around.

That'd be great, handsome. As you know, I have a bit of a vested interest in helping people who fled during the terror come back into the fold.

Actually, it might be really good to bring her into see you or Alicia when we find her? I have a strong suspicion that she'd be wary of St Mungo's and you're an excellent healer. What do you think?

I think maybe avoiding St. Mungo's would be for the best. We will do our best to make her comfortable and will set aside a patient room for her.
