RP: Settled into the office
Who: Chris + OPEN
What: Chris is settled into his office at the Fawley Foundation & working on plans for the new organization. Or rather, procrastinating on those plans.
Where: The Fawley Foundation, Monument Alley
When: Wednesday 12th November, afternoon
Rating: SFW

Chris tapped the end of his quill against his desk. The staccato echoed through his office space - now furnished with an old desk his mum had picked up for him, a pennant for the Salem Witches' Institute quidditch team (a recent gift from cousin Andie), and an old comfortable chair he had to have sent from the Boston home of his Aunt and Uncle by Muggle shipping. Worth it, he thought, as he tapped out a new beat with the quill, his list of notes nearly forgotten.

Moving on to tossing the quill up in the air and catching it in as many different ways as possible, he rolled his eyes when he caught sight of the offending pad of paper. He knew he should be getting on with it. Equality. World Saving. Hunger. All that. But when giving an insane (in Chris' world) amount of money and a year of time and just one person... Well, where did you begin?

Julian tilted his head. "I don't know why you'd drive when you can Apparate, but I hope it was enjoyable."

At the man's laugh, Julian's look turned into something between a leer and a playful smirk. "Oh, I definitely put hard work into my passions. I don't get paid for them, is all and sometimes it's better to give than to sell. That's the whole notion behind charity, after all. And there are many witches and wizards out there who could tell you what a generous person I am."

Julian nodded with each example. "Well, you could always build homes here for low-income wizards. Something not a lot of people have thought about is how many people will be getting out of Azkaban over the next few years, and many of them don't have any family left to support them. Few of them will be able to find proper work because of their criminal records, and more and more will end up on the streets. Yes, you may not agree with their politics, but when thinking about managing a population, when people cannot afford a roof over their heads and food on their plates, they tend to turn to crime. A proper system to help them get back into civilization and give them opportunities for housing and work could go a long way toward avoiding a potential crime wave which would only cause harm to the public and repopulate Azkaban. But then, what do I know, I'm just a moneyed layabout with time on my hands."

He grinned as if he hadn't just said something thoughtful and took a ball out of his pocket. "Fetch, Wallace!" he called out as he tossed it across the office.
